Lovely area, shame about the cottage!

The village of Bradwell was a typical quaint Derbyshire gem. The steep hill caused a few problems but the surrounding countryside is amazing

It was very difficult to park outside the cottage, blocking the road to unload. Parking the car close in the village was a nightmare. By the entrance, the recycle bin was piled high and overflowing with beer cans and bottles. Either there had been a party or the bin hadn't been emptied for a long time. Not good either way. On entering the cottage, it was obvious that it hadn't been cleaned to the standard expected. It smelled stale, the floor in the living area was littered with dead bugs. There were opened packets of food left in the cupboard and freezer. Wardrobes were used to store laundry, some looking like dirty sheets from previous use. The main bedroom smelled as if someone had been sick and not cleaned properly. We didnt stay! And I advise not to book this cottage.

Pubs were great, steep hills to property and very poor hygiene in the property

The shower was about the best thing in the property

The whole cottage needed fumigating! The sink trap in bathroom was absolutely disgusting. The amount of dust/dog hair in the bedrooms. Both of my dogs spent all week scratching themselves raw!! Even the bedding didn’t fit the mattress, the cover needed ironing. The settee was ripped. The stairs were so steep. Please, if you want a relaxing holiday do not stay here! . We left early because we couldn’t stand the discomfort. You certainly get what you pay for

Fabulous location, walks from the front door, Lucy very helpful , kitchen had all we needed, lovely big shower,

Maybe instruction information for the TV, internal stairway was steep to climb (maybe just us!) found the handrail essential and very useful.
