Best Western Plus Angel Hotel

I booked several rooms for my family to stay - a couple with their dogs. This hotel is simply marvellous. I will be certainly staying again.

Nothing springs to mind.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great for exploring the town, paid parking, and easy access out of town, The food menu is very nice and the food well cooked. The breakfast is varied and presented nicely. The small courtyard is a nice place to sit and the swimming pool looked clean and inviting.

Our room - 105. It fell short on a number of issues. It had an unpleasant smell to the room We knew the rooms would not be serviced unless asked for, however, over our 3 nights there, nobody visited to wash the cups and spoons or replenish the teabags or coffee. It is right next to the exit door - very noisy Doors closing/cases being pulled etc./noises from other rooms in the block, echoes around Bathroom has some good adaptations (presumably for frail guests) but unfortunately, even for me at 5ft 4 inches, the wall mirror is far too high, the shower curtain is far too low and lays across the bottom of the bath/shower and the sink is a ‘half sink’.

Location

Extortionate car park fees not really made clear until you check in £7.50 per night!😡

Swimming pool

Double bed very uncomfortable: ridge down middle where two singles adjoin. Room smelt stale: duvet stained when we took cover off to investigate.
