Super maison, super accueil, et un petit déjeuner énormissime. Notre Hôte a été aux petits soins pour nous. Des conseils super. Et franchement un cadre idyllique.

Ekhaya guesthouse as the name suggests is truly a home away from home. We were warmly welcomed by Richard the host, who went out of his way to to make us feel comfortable throughout our stay. He generously shared stories about his life and these made for great entertainment during breakfast.
Ekhaya is located in a safe area that is just minutes away from the beach, all major shopping centers and most tourists attractions. The house itself is neat, has several television sets with all subscriptions, and a cost sitting room that guests are welcome to use anytime. One can also make use of the many books that are around the house and in the rooms. There’s a pool and entertainment area outside. Richard made breakfast every day and offered all coffees and snacks in the kitchen as we wished.

The host was incredible. He made us feel at home and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. He shared wonderful stories and put much effort into making a hearty breakfast and making it a pleasant stay for us. If you are looking for a 5-star space, this isn't it. However, if you are looking for the comfort and warmth of a home; this is it. It truly felt like a weekend with our Grandpa.
The single beds were smaller than I would have liked.

Friendly owner and staff. Check-in and check-out was effortless. Guest House in general is very clean.
The only complain I have is the parking arrangement. It is difficult to only have parking in the driveway which is on a slope and is curved. I struggled with parking in my Ford Ranger.

Unfortunately on arrival I wasn't satisfied with the place, the house smelled of mould, it wasn't clean, we were supposed to get 2 bedrooms with a sharing bathroom, instead we got one bedroom with 3 beds. The windows didn't lose properly and the stairs are a disaster waiting to happen. We left immediately and booked elsewhere.

Booked in last moment as work got extended by a day, and I made this booking at Ekhaya. Must say our host, Uncle Richard, is a very warm and welcoming host. It was great to have amazing conversations on several topics.
Staying here felt so homely and relaxing. Barely a few minutes from the beach and we went down to see the sunrise there. would definitely stay here more often during my Durban work trips.

The rooms were not up to standard. Everyone should watch the movies in the lounge. The bedding was kept unkempt in the wardrobe. Richard the owner is a very nice guy. But he needs to step up. I didn't like that the bathrooms were outside my room. Ekhaya means home and it didn't feel like home.
