The hotel was perfectly situated to enable an adventurous outdoorsy weekend of hiking and exploring.
The staff there was very hospitable and easily accessible during operating hours. My main reason for staying at Hotel Mladost was to hike in and around the National Park Sutjeska, and for this purpose the hotel is perfectly located. Now, I will say I am a very low-maintenance guest so to me, the accommodation had everything you would need to have a comfortable stay: towels, soaps, working bathroom facilities, wifi, comfortable bed (twin bed), closet, and storage space for gear. I was situated on the 3rd floor, which had no balcony so I cannot speak to a balcony experience. There is ample parking in front of the hotel and easy access to the ground's main restaurant. There was no food served at the hotel, and in lieu of this, the hotel offered 1 meal ticket every day of my stay, which I would use for breakfast before I endeavored on that days hike. As a plant-enthusiast, the grounds were beautifully filled with many of Bosnia and Herzegovina's wild flowers. The hotel also was well situated to the National Sutjeska monument which would be about a 15 minute walk from the hotel to the monument. One additional note I will make is through the hotel you will have an opportunity to have a guided hike through one of Europe's last remaining Primeval Forest, Perucica (if you seek to explore this forest you are required to have a guide). Take the hotel up on this offer because the hike, the exploration, the forest itself is magical and breathtaking. This is Europe's oldest old growth forests with trees that loom 50 meters up and have diameters of sometimes 1.5-2 meters. The guide I had was perfectly well-knowledge about the forest and was an excellent steward and lead of the group. I feel enriched by this guided hike (it will help if you speak some Serbian as the guide does speak English well, but can elaborate further on the forest if he can speak in his native tongue).
This hotel is from communist/1960's era Yugoslavia and it is very apparent in the décor and general condition of the hotel and campgrounds. If you are looking mainly for a place to stay and rest your head while you are hiking/adventuring, then this hotel will suite you well, however it lacks in a lot of creature comforts that could categorize the hotel as a resort. During my visit I was 1 of maybe 2 or 3 other guests in the entire hotel, so there is a very palpable empty feeling. Unless it is the main reception area or your hotel hallway the lights are turned off, and there is seemingly abandoned areas throughout the hotel, such as rec rooms that haven't been used in a while or common areas that have couches clearly from decades ago. The entire décor of the hotel is Soviet era 1960s (which for the sake of novelty is actually pretty cool). For those who have watched Stanley Kubrick's movie, The Shinning, the initial feeling of the Hotel is that of the hotel in the Shinning (deserted/empty/dimly lit/vintage). For those who are a little squeamish, this honestly may not be the lodging for you; you might feel unsettled by the space. However, if you are able to overcome your initial reaction, you realize the hotel is perfectly adequate with a friendly staff; it is just not as well travelled so unless it is an area that is readily used it is mostly untouched. The same premise can be applied to the campgrounds. Areas of use are well maintained and cleaned. However, there are areas that are abandoned due to lack of tourists (such as an abandoned lodgings, overgrown paths, and an empty vacuous artificial lake). I am a huge outdoor enthusiast so I was mainly focused on the prolific and striking nature just outside your door. You feel as though you are in the Balkan version of Yosemite National Park (for our USA minded folks). While the accommodation was no 5 star resort, I perfectly enjoyed my stay at Sutjeska and in Hotel Mladost.

OK for one or two nights as a base to explore the beautiful surroundings
The guesthouse is located in a beautiful foresty area great for hiking (Sutjeska national park). Also, the staff at the reception was very nice and helpful and fairly easy to communicate with. As the guesthouse is run by the Sutjeska national park institution, we want to take the opportunity to thank you for the Perućica rainforest tour that we enjoyed very much.
The room was generally pretty dark as most lights didn't work. The sofas smelled like a wet dog and the room itself felt pretty moist (we have the suspicion that there was mold somewhere). Also, the staff in the guesthouse's restaurant were rather unfriendly and didn't do their job for the most part.

Old and filthy
Location is amazing to visit the surrounding area. Bed sheets were clean and smelled good.
Room was filthy, full of dead bugs in the lamps, shower curtain full of black mold and disgust, big spiders on the ceiling above bed eating the insects from the room, carpet in horrible state and dirty.

Basic stay in a beautiful location.
The food in the restaurant was of good quality. Beautiful surroundings.
There are issues with the water pump so we had three of four nights with no hot water. The restaurant staff service is terribly slow. The whole place is very smokey (common to smoke inside in B&H) and feels like it's overdue a redecoration and refurbishment. Very hard to get information from staff re: trailheads without very high taxi or tour fees associated. We were lucky to meet a National Park guide whilst hiking who was sooo helpful in helping us organise car hire and activities at a much more cost-effective price. Would recommend traveling here with own transport to make life easier. So much opportunity for this to be a fabulous place but needs to be more focused on consumer needs.

Poor
The forrest, the rivers, the mountains are all pure nature and beautiful. The guys at the desk (reception) were very helpful, nice and they spoke perfect english.
Lots of waiters can not speak foreign languages, and that was annoying and disturbing. The carpet of the room, we had,was ugly and messy. The bathroom is also from an other century. The bed was broke, and there was no curtain on the windows.

disappointing
The location of the hotel is extremly beautiful, as it is located in a lovely valley in the middle of the mountains. From every window and the balcony we enjoyed an incredible view. Also we were impressed by the highly professional and extremly polite receptionist. He really made our day and was super helpful. Thank you again!
We were arriving with low expectations, but unfortunately it was worse than we thought. Yes, there seem to be few parts of the hotel, which have been modernized some years ago, but other sections look like nothing has been done there in a long time (includign our room). We weren´t expecting any luxury, but we were getting the feeling that the owners of the hotel don´t really care about the state it is in. Extremly dirty carpets, broken doors, poorly working shower, unpleasant smell in the corridors and rooms and so on... The hotel staff ( except for the receptionists) seemed overworked and was very unfriendly. If the only thing you need is a bed, a roof over your head and hot water - the hotel will suffice, but please don´t expect anything else.
