Good place for most things, metro close as well small shop. Kitchen worked nice.

Really good location, close to the centre of the city. Good value price without being outstanding. One time when I was waiting for a shower the staff saw this on the camera and showed me to another shower elsewhere in the property.

We booked 2 beds in a hostel room and unlike many other listings the booking.com listing did not specify that the rooms were split by gender. Whilst this seems to be the case across Central Asia and this is fine, the listing did not reflect this. We were a male and female couple and were expecting to be in the same room because of how the listing is described. Whilst we saw staff cleaning during the day, the place just generally felt a little bit unclean. The stairwell and the bathrooms are examples of this. The hostel looks like it is converted apartments and so there are 4 or so rooms in each old apartment / section. Our section only had 1 toilet and 1 combined shower / toilet between 4 rooms of 6-8 people. Whilst it was not full when we were there we regularly had to wait for the shower and toilet. If our section was full this would be a bigger issue. This may have been a result of our section of the hostel being designed a particular way because when I went to another section there were many more showers and a communal hangout space with a table plus much more natural light. So your experience may depend on which section of the hostel you are assigned a room in. There is generally no communal hangout space or seating. We were sitting on the lounge near reception briefly whilst trying to plan a day trip and the staff told us to move and that we couldn’t sit there.

Il n'y a rien que je n'aime pas dans cette maison qui offre un confort intimiste rare dans une chambre d’hôtes. Le quartier est encore authentique alors que la plupart des quartiers d’Almaty sont en pleine transformation avec des constructions tout en hauteur. Ce beau quartier avec ses maisons basses typiques de l’ère soviétique (si jolies avec leurs volets sculptés et de couleur) mérite que l’on s’y arrête tant qu’il est encore temps.

Very clean, the cleaning lady would come and clean everyday and the location was very convenient. Overall, I had a good experience for the price!

Although it is a hostel, I had little to no privacy especially from the staff. I was also moved to a different building and the end of my stay and had my things that were locked in the locker touched and moved without my knowledge. Otherwise everything else was good
