Hotel Boutique Hort de Nal

Wonderfully warm welcome by lovely staff. Lots of generous and thoughtful touches. Absolutely beautiful setting in tranquil lush gardens, but only a stone’s throw from the city centre. Large comfortable bed, a choice of pillows and so quiet. Sadly only passing through but wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or return. Secure, free off street parking another plus.

Fantastic building in large grounds with a fabulous pool area. Very friendly staff. Our room was large and clean. Good location for walking into Elche - (which we think is a lovely place to visit).

Unfortunately the swimming pool and the pool area were closed on the Saturday morning we stayed - as the hotel were hosting a large party that lunchtime. We weren't aware of this when we booked. We had an evening flight home later that day and we had specifically chosen the hotel so we could relax in the sun by the pool until we checked out. It was very disappointing that we weren't able to do this. Also - unlike some other guests - we thought the breakfast was poor.

We arrived very late but had the instructions sent to us and they were really clear. Lovely view of the pool from the room.

Location and pool area was lovely. Room was clean but hotel has focused on style rather than getting the basics correct.

The hotel was like a ghost hotel. There was only ever one staff member on at any one time. No one in kitchen or restaurant. States there is a minibar - but this is actually an honesty bar in the hall. There is no fridge in the room to store water or drinks. There was no kettle in the room to make tea. Had to get lukewarm water from the coffee machine downstairs. Stated there was an iron - but couldn't find one. The WiFi only worked at the door to our room. When actually in the room there was no WiFi. We reported this on our first night but nothing was done about it. So we had to pay for extra data on our phones during our stay. The safe in the room also was locked shut and this was reported. We were meant to get a text with the the code but again never got it. The shower was just a handheld shower as the hose didn't reach the connection on the wall to allow you to stand under it. The car park was full of rubbish and was like waste ground. More like a B&B without the breakfast - rather than a hotel.
