Disappointing from the moment we pulled in. I use VRBO quite often. Greeted in the driveway with overflowing large trash bins that had been there for several days. All of the trash bins on the side of the house were also full. They smelled horrible and were disgusting. Host inquired if the trash was left, but never sent anyone to remove the trash. Arrived on a Th evening and they were still full with nowhere to leave our trash by checkout on Sunday. House has a definite funk to it with off putting smells, that are a combo of stale lake water and lack of cleanliness. House is very poorly finished, furnished, and in disrepair. Chunks of paint missing on walls. Screws in walls that looked to have had pictures on them at one point which are now long gone and holes in the doors. Oddly configured home with no bathroom on the first floor, so be aware if you have guests that need a bathroom but may not travel stairs well. My wife reached out to the host upon her arrival to let them know of the moldy showers and shower curtains. Host replied in the morning telling us they would reimburse if we wished to replace the shower curtains. My wife had to clean the bathrooms before we could use them as they were disgusting. Lawn clippings were thick and should have been removed. I messaged the host to rectify as I don’t think this property lived up to the ads or costs. Have waited a week and no response. I definitely would not recommend this property. Ripped off and blown off.

The property was in a good location, private, serene and surrounded by trees. The inside was very clean and an added plus that the linens and towels were provided. Some areas of the house were updated and some areas are showing their age. Arrival and access to the house was easy. The lake was beautiful, especially when the sun was setting. We really enjoyed the kayaks and the fire pit. We didn't try to fish off the dock because we felt the water was too shallow.
The exterior of the house could really use a lot of TLC. It does not match the pictures. The gutters were clogged, the siding, deck, windows and sills were very dirty. The pedal boat is missing the steering handle. There was a makeshift one that was not usable. The stairs off the deck are steep and the lights on them were not operating so it was a scary dissent after dark, made even more dangerous with the damp leaves that should have been cleared off before our arrival.
This property could definitely be 5 star with some repairs and maintenance. Overall, we appreciated our stay here.

We had a few questions about the property when we first arrived. The owner did not respond to our e mail, text, or repeated phone calls. The house meeds some TLC. Especially the outside and the outdoor amenities. The kitchen equipment needs to be updated and replaced. Especially the pots and pans. Other than the above we enjoyed the fire pit and overall the house.

My friends and I booked this property for the weekend to kick back and relax and bbq. The listing did not disappoint at all, the amenities were great.

Honestly, don't think it's worth the price, and the property was full of spiders, spider webs and was cleaned hastily. Grass was partially cut, shower was extremely slippery and my wife slipped and got a concussion. I contacted the owner to no avail. I believe this was a real estate investment aimed at getting milked as much as possible with the least effort. If you can pick alternate solutions, at similar price, I suggest you do so. I own properties too, but also respect those that rent from me.

We had a wonderful time at this property. Lots to do! We had bonfire, grilled outside and took out the peddle boat for happy hour on the water. It can get buggy, but that is just the location and no fault of the property owner. I would recommend to all!

Our stay was great. The house was perfect for our family. The kitchen was stocked well with plenty of pots, pans and dishes. The outside was were we spent the majority of our time and between the water, paddle boards and hammock, it was amazing. Will definitely book again.

The house was roomy and updated. The kitchen and baths were re done and there was plenty of room for us 7 guys on our annual reunion/kayak/rest vacation. The location is GREAT with plenty of privacy.
The only negative is that the exterior of the house needs some attention. Power washing to remove the myriad of cobwebs and major cleaning of the to remove mold from the picnic tables. There also needs to be better outdoor lighting. None of the many solar lights on the steps etc. worked. Just a little elbow grease outside would make a big difference in this very comfortable perfectly situated home. We would absolutely stay here again if we come back to Lake Anna.

This was such a beautiful property nestled back in the woods but right on the water. Views are gorgeous, water was warm and location was great. Close enough to get to the store or restaurant but far enough to be exclusive. We loved every minute here!

The house and the yard are great! However, we found a lot of dirty dishes and silverware that had been put away in cabinets and drawers. Like obvious caked-on food. Also, they need to treat the yard. While sitting at the picnic table by the lake we were all crawling with ticks.

We stayed for 2 nights with 7 members of a bass club. The house had plenty of beds for everyone. We did not feel cramped. Though the dock was small we were able to fit 6 boats with 2 being beached on the sand which wasn’t an issue due to the location being in a protected cove. Communication with the owner was great. He responded back quickly even when we popped the breaker Saturday and we needed access to a locked room to reset the breaker. The only thing that could have made it better would be if there was electric at the dock. If you need to charge boat batteries you will need to bring extension cords. Over all our stay was great.

We had a relaxing time at this home. Everything was ready when we arrived. We enjoyed kayaking on the lake and playing board games. We would definitely come back to visit.

The property was FILTHY. From the cobwebs in the corners, to the dirty pillows on the beads to the dirty floors. The lock on the bedroom door with the bunkbeds upstairs literally locked us inside of the room! We could not get out for over an hour and had to bang on the door until someone heard us. The back steps to take the trash down to the bins was broken and nobody should have been walking on it, but we were not warned. The blinds are the original from the home and are dirty and BRIGHT YELLOW. The trashcan was broken as well. This house looked nice online but wasn't clean.

Just be careful not to walk on the water front. The neighbors got upset with us when we tried to call the kids to come back. Other than that, it was a nice stay.

Enjoyed my 5 night stay. Very clean and well provisioned home. I was slightly disappointed by the lack of an unobstructed lake view due to the obnoxious boathouse built by the owner of the equally obnoxious McMansion nearby.
Just a few very minor complaints about the property that I only mention for the owner, toaster didn’t work, garbage can lid needs to be reattached, and the screen to the sliding door is pushed out.

We had a great stay at the property, our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Particularly helpful for us was two paddle boards one paddle boat multiple inflatables and two kayaks. This equipment was a little bit beaten up but functional. The home in our opinion is needing a serious update of all things, it feels like a collection of old leftovers that are miss matched and not designed at all. Fans so loud and wiggly you can’t get to sleep if you turn them on.

Lovely setting.
The woods and lake views were serene and beautiful The house was completely private, well furnished and comfortable. The kitchen was a pleasure to work in. We enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards but other water equipment was not in service. The water temperature was like a warm bath--lovely except during severe heat. Hosts had provided campfire wood and kindling so making s'more was a breeze. We had a wonderful family vacation.

We absolutely loved the location and being on the warm side of the lake. Quiet and serene. We enjoyed playing in the water and using the water equipment there. There was a slight drive if we wanted to go anywhere, but that's kind of why we chose this place. We wanted to unplug and enjoy nature and life. Mission accomplished.

We were on a road trip from Massachusetts through some parts of Viginia and I knew it would tire us out so I rented this house for a few days as a more relaxing part of the trip. We wanted something peaceful and quiet and this didn't disappoint.
When we arrived, there was an issue where although we got an email from VRBO telling us we received the information to access the property, when I went to the site the information wasn't there. Bummer, we were tired from all the driving and really just wanted to get in, unpack and relax. I reached out to the owner and thankfully, they responded very quickly and within minutes, we were unside.
The interior of the property was very clean. As you walk in there is a small hangout space with some seating, tv and place to hang up jackets. There is also a slider door to the backyard. The slider lock wasn't working but they had a large piece would wood to hold the door closed.
There is a bedroom on the bottom floor that also has a sliding door which was great because I could see the water when I got up in the morning. There were clean sheets provided in bags which was great. The bed was super comfortable. There was also two bunk beds in the room that we didn't use. There were two dressers that had more than enough space for my stuff.
There are two additional bedroom upstairs, the master is very large, has a sitting room and master bathroom. Clean sheets, plenty of clean towels etc. The smaller bedroom upstairs has a large bed and two bunk beds, lots of space.
The guest bathroom in the hallway was clean and also provided plenty of towels.
The kitchen was a great size and best of all, when you are working on the larger kitchen island, you can look out at the water.
There was a firepit and area to grill food, we used them both. We also used the canoe and kayaks while there and they have so many life jackets ready to go. They also had fishing poles available but we didn't catch any fish, just a few sticks.
The area by the water was a little messy so we avoided some of that. Overall, it was a great place to stay and Lake Anna is a beautiful lake. I didn't know anything about it prior to going and didn't know there was a Hot (more private) and Cold (public) side to the beach. I wasn't able to rent jet skis because we stayed on the "hot" side of the lake.
