Black Mountain Lodge

Clean and comfortable, well located, excellent facilities and breakfast.

Super peaceful location. The whole place is charming - modern and beautifully maintained and decorated. The breakfast room is delightful. And the breakfast fruits and cereals and cooked breakfast choices were perfect.

Weather was great so able to relax in the extensive garden. However, it was a shame the very pleasant Bar and Lounge area were not available during our stay.

Very nice place in a great location. Great bar and dining room. Room was just what we needed. Would certainly stay again.

Price was ok but we saw other places locally that had better facilities for similar money.

Breakfast was very pleasant and cooked to order.

We had to wait around for half an hour before any staff appeared to check us in. (There was no information displayed about what to do upon arrival if there were no staff on site and no apology / explanation when they finally arrived). The room was quite small, with little space to put suitcase / clothes. Furnishings and fittings were quite tired. Our room was located in the main building above the lodge's function area. When we returned to the lodge after dinner, the only bar area was being used by the private party guests, so we felt awkward about using the bar. We weren't forewarned about there being a party on the evening of our stay. Sound-proofing was nonexistent, so we weren't able to get to sleep until all of the party guests had left, long after midnight.
