The Pelicans is a budget motel and we selected it because of the price. It was perfectly adequate. It was spotlessly clean and came with microwave, toaster etc. etc. (which we didn't need) and the room had a proper table and chairs plus an armchair. The bed was comfortable. We were only there for one night and it suited us well.
The bathroom was very small with a tiny shower cubicle and the toiletry supply was two miniscule cakes of soap and two sachets of shampoo. Barely adequate, but then, it was a budget motel. The worst feature was the outside lights that stayed on all night, with the light leaking in around the blinds and curtains. If you like proper darkness for sleeping, this could be a problem.

Walking distance to restaurants and the bridge to Phillip Island, it was clean, plenty of linen and it served the purpose of our family trip..
Aesthetically it's had work done but it is a budget friendly motel, it's perfectly fine for what you pay.

Clean and comfortable with friendly staff
Major refurbishment required. Really dated furnishings. We stayed on a cool night and could have done with warmer blankets despite a thin one provided and electric blankets.
