Beds were very hard. Food, definitely room for improvement. The eating/evening drinking area is dark and chair’s uncomfortable. It is not welcoming.

I have stayed with you a few time now and really like it. Great location. Great building, friendly staff. Good value

I find the mattress way to hard and uncomfortable for a good night sleep.

We had a large room, overlooking the square. The location is ideal for wondering around Monmouth. The room itself was spotless.

The hot water controls in the bath/shower did not work correctly resulting in scalding water in the shower.

Nothing. Exactly as expected.

The location was at the top of the Main Street, very convenient. We loved our room, it was very spacious and had several sitting areas, it also had plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits etc. The bed was very comfortable and we had 3 very good night’s sleep (which is unusual for my husband and myself). The bathroom was very nicely laid out and the shower was very big. Toiletries were provided. We enjoyed different breakfasts each morning and it was good to just walk downstairs for our evening meal, which we ate next to the lovely welcoming fire. All in all a lovely stay. Thank you also to the kind, friendly staff.

There was no car parking at the King’s Head as it was in a town location, but we were able to find free overnight street parking nearby. Plenty of car parks dotted around the town.

Clean and modern room right in the centre of town. Check in was easy and the room was comfortable and quiet. I had dinner and breakfast at the Wetherspoons attached so that was convenient and quick. All good.

Difficult to get hold of staff on reception. Had wanted to book again for the following year but told would have to ring. There lies another problem...no one ever answers the phone.

Great location parking could be an issue but do your homework and it’s really not !

Could be noisy but staff tried to make this as good as possible try to pick a room with a higher or tucked away location. it is open until 12 pm or 1pm Friday and Saturday

Warren of corridors and rooms scattered all over the place. a better explanation of his to get to rooms with large bags would have been good. Reception was very poorly responsive to calls. cakes did not get answered. It took a long time to summon someone to check us in. The wifi was very poor. parking was a problem.

Location was good, service for food was speedy.

Unpleasant smell in the bathroom. Disappointing view and air conditioning units were noisy outside our room.

Lovely rooms and nice period property with character, good location.

No hot water at 10 pm when we wanted showers. We had booked 4 rooms in our group so pretty bad that all the rooms had the same issue. Dinner in the evening was good but the presentation at breakfast was poor. We ordered 2 American breakfasts in our group and the meals came without the sausages, and a tiny piece of chopped up bacon , sandwiched between the two pancakes. The coffee was very weak and like drinking a cup of milky water.

Value for money. The room could beat any room in a 4star hotel. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel as a place to stay to all.

The lift is not large enough. My husband and I are both big, but it would not take us both together, plus our bags.
