The Mathraki Studios

Location, size room, balcony and swimming pool.

I had a very noisy fridgebar. I did not sleep at all for two nights...The manager came and was helpful...it improved the noise but still not the best fridgebar to have in the room where you sleep.

You can tell the hotel is cared for by the family who run it. The place is spotless and is renovated / updated regularly. I was shocked to hear it’s 20 years old as it seems so new. Everyone greets you with warmth and a smile. Really good breakfast options to start the day. Many days were spent relaxing at the pool which was never busy, and more than enough sun loungers for everyone. The drinks prices at the bar are reasonable and there is plenty choice, including cocktails. The towels in the room are beautifully soft and fluffy. The rooms are cleaned daily, including sweeping and mopping floors. Kitchenette is great to prepare snacks and lunches to eat on the balcony. Big fridge and freezer with ice tray to make ice for drinks. Lovely sea views from the balcony. The hotel is close enough to walk to beach, bars, restaurants and even neighbouring bay San Stefanos. Arillas is prettier though Also the mosquito net sliding door and mosquito net on windows are very effective. We were not affected by mosquitos in the room at all. Great beach nearby with plenty coastline for spending each day at a different spot with a different view. Boat hire nearby is also cheap!

Literally the only thing (was not necessarily about the hotel but Arillas in general), and it’s a minute thing, nothing opens until 9am, not even shops, so if you’re an early riser it’s best to pick up things for in your kitchenette like coffee and milk or whatever else might want before 9am as waiting for my coffee on day one felt like a torture 😆

La vista dal balcone è ampia e godibile, il bagno piccolo ma ben organizzato e con una buona pressione dell'acqua. La stanza ha una buona metratura ed è dotata di un grande armadio, di finestre in bagno e lato cucina e di zanzariere. La piscina è un bel plus. Presso la struttura si possono acquistare acqua e latte a buon prezzo. A ca. 150 metri si trova un negozietto con tutto il necessario, frutta e verdura fresche.

Non ci sono canali televisivi d'informazione internazionale. Sarebbe ancora meglio se l'orario di accesso alla piscina fosse prolungato oltre le 19:00, almeno fino alle 21:00.

although it been renovated the bathroom is dire. The plastic bathroom cabinet is full of stains that can’t be removed as it’s so old and the rest of the bathroom needs completely ripping out. the soul seemed to have gone out of the mathraki and having been on numerous occasions I don’t think I’ll go back while the studios remain the same. The bar on a nighttime was deserted which was a shame because you didn’t want to have a drink and they lost a lot of custom although food is available during the day this stops on a night which was fine for us as we like to eat at different restaurants. However, some people were upset to hear that this has stopped but understand that it must be a difficult decision to make and family comes first. we are in arillas next year but sadly we will be staying elsewhere..
