Nestled in a scenic valley of traditional ryokan and old hotels, this exceptionally friendly hostel offers clean rooms, comfortable futon beds, and an incredible free natural hot spring. It’s a great spot to reconnect with fellow Kumano Kodo hikers, and while there are no grocery stores nearby, a fully equipped kitchen is available for self-catering. Be sure to visit the owner’s café for dinner, where you can enjoy delicious, fresh steamed vegetables served with your choice of meat or fish.
Reaching this hostel requires navigating a steep, narrow flight of stone steps. While an unexpected typhoon brought heavy daily rain and made waiting at roofless, infrequent bus stops a challenge, the experience was enriched by the wonderful international hikers we connected with along the route.

A super affordable youth hostel with private rooms and 3 private onsen baths in beautiful Yonomine. The staff and other guests were friendly and knowledgeable. The hostel is perched half way up a hill above the unbelievably quaint town, so the walk into town felt like a romantic adventure.

Exceeded my expectations! Hostel was great. Staff exceptional and facility clean. Good location for both the bus and KK. Food at the restaurant was also excellent but it's tiny so you may have to wait. The free onsen was a really nice touch.
The towels....at least they were free to use.

I stayed in a mixed dorm. It was surprisingly clean and quiet although it was full house. Love the private onsen and it’s always available when I needed to use it. Host was very responsive to my message. Definitely worth a stay if you do not mind a small living space. Just enough for my rest after another day of the hike.

"Un meraviglioso ostello nella natura.
La posizione è ottima per i sentieri più famosi del Kumano Kodo e anche per le fermate degli autobus.
Vicino si trovano due ristoranti per cena.
