The biggest asset to this house is the view from the balcony and the patio. Its superb. Also, for golfers its location being so close to the Great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf Resort is excellent. The WiFi was good, with fairly stable speed. The use of the pool at the lodge was helpful. The small pool is heated... the main pool isn't! Something to remember when you head down the slide from one into the other!! ; )

From our experience we we found the following; There was no one to meet us at the Villa. We had to call the local lady who was suppose to be there (she was in Nairobi instead) and so waited till the cook arrived with the keys. The house offers a cook/chef and can be part or full time. We opted for full time, except when we found out the he finishes at 5pm. When asked what about dinner was told he could make it now then we could put it in the mircowave later! The sheets either hadn't been cleaned or are in need of replacement. If you stay here work on the property having absolutely no food, by this we mean salt, pepper, etc. We started cooking and found out from the cook that they don't stock these things. Also there is no store close by to "run and grab" eggs or sugar or salt and pepper. There is a store opposite the entrance to the Lodge however they hold nothing except drinks and random bits. The store was bare with no stock. If you want to do a food shop you have to drive all the way back into Naivasha. Also note the house does have a fan for the warmer nights, however the fan is broken; the stand it sits on is broken. Finally the mosquito nets in the bedrooms. If you're in the master bedroom you are fine. The net is good and just about closes around the bed. If you're in any of the other rooms then not so much. The down stairs double room is fine if you have just one person sleeping in the bed, if you have two then the net simply doesn't work. The net (from a round support hanging from the roof) doesn't have enough clearance to cover the entire bed without the net sitting on the bed. This means if you role over in the night you could expect to either cosy up with the net or worse pull it down all together.

The cottage is roomy and we each had our own room. The 4th room located downstairs is a bed/office room but with a big enough bed but not as unique as the rest of the rooms. But great when you need that additional room. The high wood ceilings make the place feel bigger.

There isn’t much to not like. But if you have toddlers or rambunctious young kiddos, the small hall way upstairs between the 2 bedrooms a wider than those you’d find or are allowed in the states. I can fit between them. The railing at the main bedroom balcony are geometric Desig that is also too wide for toddlers. So, I was uneasy a bit and had to keep reminding everyone to keep an eye on our toddler when I used the bathroom or showered. But this may be just me be overly careful.

Large lodge, bit out-dated but absolutely great value for money. Very friendly staff
