Perfect location, private yet close to things to do and places to dine. House is well equipped with everything you need and accommodations for a large group. We don't usually rent a place without a pool but the hot tub was great! Would definitely do it again.

Owners were very responsive when, upon arrival, we discovered there was no clean sponge or barely any toilet paper on the dispensers in most of the bathrooms. They had someone drop those off, along with a propane tank for the grill (also nearly empty upon arrival). With that said, and given that this is not your average rental (in fact, by far the most expensive we've paid in our shared vacation rental history), there are several items worth noting. -Various window screens are missing & some windows don't open- not ideal in the dead of summer in a house w/no central air. -2 bedrooms have small A/C window units which were old, loud & one had to be turned on/off with a pair of pliers that sat next to a plastic container on the sill to collect drips from a leaky skylight. -Master bedroom shower not only has a curtain that resembles a gray Glad trash bag but also has a low, complicated/awkward rod system that could knock you out cold if you bent down in the wrong spot or lost footing. -Mice seen on 2 separate occasions: in bedroom & another night in kitchen. -Basement, with its shag carpet, reeks of Febreze and mildew. Despite opening all windows and keeping all doors open to air it out, this odor remained strong all week long. -Kitchen cabinets, while fully stocked, are so full and in disarray that once a pot is removed to use on the stove, it was close to impossible to return to its original location because of the avalanche of dishes that took its place. -Night stands, bureaus, empty closet shelves/suitcase stands would have been helpful since we only had floor space for our open suitcases/toiletries eg, a bureau would have been more useful than a toboggan & oversized chair in the bedroom. -Lighting is poor thru out house- hard to read a book -Broken fan -The upstairs TV volume did not work nor did the right-hand side of the stovetop. While both problems were disclosed in the renter's guide, we are not made aware of this until after we booked. -Most rentals we’ve stayed at have had Netflix/Amazon Prime to watch a free movie. Fortunately we brought our Amazon Fire Stick that allowed us to watch a movie (downstairs) w/own account. In short, we were disappointed because we expected that these types of issues would be resolved prior to renting this home at this steep cost/night. At this price point, a certain level of luxury is expected while basic necessities & routine maintenance should be a given. In this case, none of these criteria were met.

Property was perfect for our group of 10 - 4 adults and 6 kids age 4 to 15. Direct access to Sugarbush without going up Rt 100, although it's a dirt road so need 4wd for wintry days. Owner adjusted our arrival date by one day about 2 months before arrival, but provided refund and we were okay with it. Jacuzzi was hot in the winter, and easy to operate. Warnings about using Amazon prime account accidentally, but STBs allowed easy Chromecasting and Internet speed (approx 30mbps) was sufficient for the content we needed. Stove and other kitchen amenities were excellent and well stocked, though one of the two ovens had an issue. Will definitely book this place again if we ever return to Sugarbush.

What a great time we had with friends and family! Weather cooperated and gave us great skiing, snowboarding, xcountry and snowshoeing conditions. And then the house was so comfortable and inviting to come back to. We never even went out to dinner, we enjoyed being together so much. A bump or 2 along the way but the owners were attentive and helped immediately! Would definitely come back and recommend to others!

The sleeping arrangements are great and the bed are very comfortable. The kitchen is perfect is cooking a large or small meal. During the day you can explore the area ( we drove all the way to canada) sugarbush is incredibly close by. In the evening you can settle in for a soak in the hot tub or a movie in the basement with a group! Hope to return soon.

This was definitely one of the best homes I have stayed in. The house is located on a vast piece of land, right off the road, the nest part is the house number is placed on a tree so it is easy to identify the property. It is spacious, more than good for our party of 12, it could fit few more people. The kitchen is huge and it has ample pots & pans. The right oven ignition does not work, would be good to fox that. The deck is another big area where you can spend lot of time. The hot tub is huge and awesome with lights. The grill is big too and again the ignition does not work so you have light it with a match stick which is available in the house. We encountered an incident where the furnitures on the deck ( mainly table and chairs) were lying around in different places when we returned to the house in the evening. We called Richard and he was very prompt in assuring us that it is a very good neighborhood and he sounded very calm. He said it has happened earlier and it is most probably caused by wind and the possibility of a bear cannot be ruled out. The good thing was the response from Richard which calmed our nerves. Awesome host, awesome place - must visit!!

Property was lovely, thoughtfully appointed and plenty of room for a large group. We loved taking the kayaks to the lake and relaxing on the back deck in the evenings.

Our group stayed for a long weekend and couldn't get enough of it. The house is gorgeous. Everything we could possibly need was there. Everything was clean. The was so much to do at the house and we really enjoyed warren falls. We will be booking again in the future.

Beautiful, well equipped home perfect for our family vacation! Owners were great to work with, we loved the house and all the fun summer activities nearby!

Our group of 8 adults stayed at the property for 3 nights. We did lots of cooking and the kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed. The dining table was perfect for the group with nice lighting and comfortable seating. The outdoor patio was even better equipped than pictured with plenty of seating both for dining and for hanging out. The hot tub was great even for a summer gathering with hot days. It was clean and functioning properly (sometimes not the case at rentals). No disappointments here!!

We had a great time at Betsy's house! It is beautiful, bigger and nicer than you can tell in the pictures. We appreciated the stocked kitchen, open floor plan, and everyone enjoyed the hot tub. we will be back next summer!

We have never been to Vermont before but we cannot wait to go back. This house was everything we asked for and more. The location was great, the property was private and the house was large enough that everyone had their own space but there was also space for all of us to hang out together and play games and just have fun. And the decor was amazing....everything was perfect.

We had a fabulous time at The Red Dog Barn, for our Daughter's Graduation from Norwich University! The house was clean and there was plenty to do. Best fireplace in Vermont!

Wow - This house is fantastic!! We've been searching for the perfect ski house for the past eight years, and each year we've been able to find a good place, though it's always been missing something. And then we found the "Red Dog Barn"... I'll be honest, at first, we thought it was too good to be true from the photos and other reviews. Though, from the moment we booked the house, the owners were super responsive and great/fun to deal with. They have everything organized in a welcome packet, which gave us the complete rundown of what to expect, and they always responded quickly when we had simple questions like -> "Any chance the house has a crockpot" and minutes later, we received this response "We actually have three...." Now on to the house - It's huge and well laid out! We had three families (6 adults/ 6 kids), and the kids were able to have their own world downstairs in the game room/two bedrooms with huge bunk beds (and two bathrooms!). As for the adults, we then split up the three rooms upstairs and were good to go. The beds/pillows/sheets were all super comfortable, and there were more than enough towels for everyone. Now on to important stuff -> You walk into nice brick floored entryway -> great for folks to get off their snowy boots, and right in front of you is a HUGE gear room, which was perfect for all of us to hang our ski gear to dry and keep organized (6 kids always makes things interesting!). Then on to the kitchen, which is very spacious and allows more than enough room to cook your feasts and not be on top of everyone. There's a large "L" shaped island to place everything with some bar seating to separate you from the dining area which has a large table that we used for meals, games, and homework. PS - the appliances are great (large fridge, Viking stove/oven, dishwasher, Keurig) and more than enough cookware and accessories. The little things -- - 7 min ride to Sugarbush / 15 min ride to Mad River Glenn -> Easy to get back and forth from the mountains - Large living room and fireplace with a super comfy couch - Giant hot-tub only a few steps from the door (perfect for Apres Ski!) - Sonos throughout the house (every ski house needs a good playlist!) - Yard has a great hill for sledding/tubing - More than enough parking and their snowplow contractor had the driveway cleared right away when we received snow one night - A bunch of board games, air hockey, foosball, giant Connect Four and Jenga, two huge beanbag chairs

Other than the issues we had with the Heating system for much of our stay, we loved the home! It's private and comfy... and it has a game room and plenty of space to eat and relax and a great fireplace and a kitchen that couldn't have been better!
