Situato a soli 7 miglia a nord della fine della strada dura e incastonato tra due riserve di specie protette, le spalle scenderanno non appena si tira in. La serenità su questa parte della spiaggia è incredibile. Guarda gli interruttori dalla cucina ben attrezzata in questa casa piano piano inverso. Si può anche vedere alcuni pellicani marroni volano mentre sorseggiate il vostro caffè. Trascorrete la giornata sulla veranda riparata guardare i cavalli selvaggi. È anche possibile avvistare volpi, conigli, cervi o maiali neri. (Sono qui, ma sono sfuggente!) La fauna selvatica abbonda anche sulla spiaggia con tutti i tipi di uccelli e pesci, molluschi e molluschi. Shelling è il passatempo preferito, per non parlare di pesca e il nuoto. bloccati animali sono ammessi sulla spiaggia, in modo da poter portare il vostro cane e godersi la giornata. This was the first time to the Outer Banks, and it was perfect. The house was in a fantastic location. We couldn't have asked for more. Laura at Corova Cottages was so attentive, and sweet! She was available whenever I had a question, and made me feel so welcomed. Everything was clean, and tidy. The views were amazing. Wild Spanish horses all around the house almost every day. Everyone was so friendly. My husband and I hope rlto be back sooner than later. Thank you again! ❤️

This was our second stay in 4x4. This home had more tour traffic. Also, more ATV/UTV and someone had an old dune buggy that was loud. House located further up the beach than our previous stay, but meant less “crowded” beach. For those of you not use to a well there is an odor to the water and not a lot of pressure. Overall home was very nice and well stocked for stay. Side screened in porch was great with fans and breeze. We did see a group of 3 horses most nights and our final night they grazed in the side and backyard.

The only thing I would recommend would be a roll of toilet paper for each of bathrooms. First time I’ve stayed anywhere that there wasn’t toilet paper. Everything else was great. The Fully stocked kitchen was great.

This was our first time to stay on the 4x4 beach. The house is in a great location and was just perfect for what we needed. The house was clean and orderly. The A/C quit working on the second floor while we were there. We contacted the property manager and she scheduled the repair very quickly. Thank you for a great week!

The Weathervane was the perfect size for our family of six and two pups. We love to cook so I really appreciated that the kitchen was fully stocked with every utensil and appliance you could possibly need (no Keurig, but there is a standard coffeemaker). The screened in deck area catches the breeze in the morning and evening and is almost always shady, great for coffee in the morning and dinner at night. There is a group of horses that hangs out in this neighborhood and they were in the yard and in the slightly wooded lot next door every morning. This house is a cozy little gem and we will be back. Don't hesitate to book it. I enjoyed working with Laura and David at Carova Cottages at well. They were professional and very helpful.

This was our third time staying at the Weathervane, and it was another fantastic trip. The home has all you need to unplug, relax, and enjoy your time in this beautiful area. We saw horses around the property every day, and across the street nibbling grass on the dunes with the ocean waves and blue sky in the background. We had a gorgeous full moon during our stay, and watching it rise over the ocean with red to orange coloring was magical. The sunrises with the orange, pink, and purple variations weren't too shabby either. Great stay!!!

The fact that I am reviewing this home for the third time in three seasons should say a lot. This is a newer home and very well kept in a great location. There's horses around almost daily. Carova Cottages is very easy to deal with. We've been coming for almost ten years and this is the first house we've stayed at more than once.

Our favorite spot was the screen porch where we played games and ate every meal while looking at the ocean and the horses in our yard. We absolutely love this house and the entire area. We saw horses around the house almost every day. Having a little one with us it was nice to be able to put everything we needed in the car and drive over to the beach. The only concern I had was having a little one and cars driving on the beach. I felt like i had to always be on gaurd but for the most part everyone seemed cautious as they drove. Overall it was a great vacation!!!this was our daughters first trip to the beach. She loved it so we will likely be back!

We stayed at The Weathervane in September 2020 and loved the home and area so much we booked again for May 2021. The home is near two drive-outs to the beach and has a great view of the ocean from all the decks. The home is very comfortable, with all the cookware, dishes, and utensils you need to enjoy a week "up the beach away from town". Great place to relax, unwind, and watch/listen to the ocean, waves breaking, breeze blowing, and see the local wildlife.

We found that having ample outdoor deck space, beautiful views, a scrabble board, and a great kitchen for cooking outweighed the limited TV channels, temporary construction next door, and the short walk to the beach. One of our favorite things, that is unique to this house, was the outdoor telescope on the top deck. It is one thing to see a ship or dolphin on the horizon, but it’s another thing to view it close up through such a fun amenity. This is definitely something fun that only the Weathervane seems to offer and everyone will just love. This house was also in the perfect location for viewing wild horses! On the days we did want to venture back to the paved roads, the drive was not too far (although not always fun if you aren’t used to driving in the sand). However, those drives were limited as we found very few reasons to leave The Weathervane. A few additional details to note: you can see and hear the ocean from this house, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook, dogs will drink the water but I recommend bringing bottled for people, the recycling center is just a few blocks away, there are 2 nearby beach access roads, and this house requires the use of stairs (we lovingly carried an older dog up and down them all week). To top it all off, Laura was so easy to work with. She answered all of our questions and really made booking and traveling to the house so simple. Emails and signage in the house were clear, everything was as pictured, and the whole process was just such a cinch. I can easily recommend The Weathervane, and actually already have!

Great House! Great Vacation
Booking and check in process super simple and easy. House was clean and beautiful. No issues. We spent a lot of time on the beach, loved driving to the beach. Everything was so quiet and peaceful. Horses were in the backyard a few times which was super exciting. Would definitely stay again!

The Weathervane is a beautiful, well maintained and a very clean house. It offered everything one needs for a weeks vacation. The house is perfectly situated for an amazing view of the sunrise and the moon over the ocean at night. The horses stroll through many times during the day and night. You can never grow tired of watching them. It's a perfect house for a couple or small family.
The management company is great too. Laura is very easy to work with and was very quick with her responses with any questions I had. Overall it was a great experience, great house and looking forward to next year!

Fantastic Beach Getaway
We wanted a vacation to unplug and spend time relaxing, reading, strolling along the beach enjoying the sound of the surf and wind, and seeing the wild horses and other wildlife. North Swan Beach and Weathervane met all those criteria and then some. Great stay in a fantastic location and rental home. The home was very clean and well equipped for a vacation stay. Views from the open and screened in deck were wonderful. Weathervane will be our choice if we travel to the OBX in the future.

Our week in Carova was wonderful. The house was very well maintained and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the ocean. We had plenty of space for our family of four. The screened in porch was well used for our meals and horse-watching in the morning. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own meals. The property manager was a life-saver. When we had an issue with our Jeep on the morning of check out, she came to the house and helped us. She also gave excellent directions on how to navigate driving on the beach. I would absolutely rent here again.

Wonderful 4x4 retreat
We had to cancel our early summer beach trip due to Covid. We were pleasantly surprised when the Weathervane popped up for an August vacation. This was our third visit to Carova and the Weathervane met all of our expectations. It was very close to the beach and the property was well maintained. The property manager was excellent and very quick with responses and requests. We highly recommend the Weathervane and look forward to future visits.

Wonderful retreat in OBX
This rental has it all for a small family or two couples. Beds are super comfy, bathrooms are gorgeous, the layout concept and design is top notch and really well thought out. It is one of the best uses of spaces I have rented over the years, and the furnishings and materials are beautiful and sleek while at the same time being durable. It did not feel like a rental at all, more like a friends vacation home. I cannot even possilbly say enough good things about Laura James the property manager. She went above and beyond for us, particularly in keeping us off the ledge for fear of the hurricane. She was in constant contact, answered our questions, gave great advice and gave us complete comfort with her experience and knowledge. She even loaned us an ingredient we were missing for a dish. Having her not far from the house was an enormous peace of mind. That said, this home has everything including a fantastic manager! There are sturdy wooden beach chairs available, there was an umbrella and small stash of other beach needs. The washer dryer was great for all the laundry, ample hot water and pressure, and the kitchen is thoroughly stocked. But these coolest part is the peace, the quiet, the beautiful views, and the wildlife - there was a resident fox we saw often in the mornings and the horses oh the horses! Sooooo many all the time. Early morning and at dusk, in the front yard, in the back yard, in the street, all different kinds and even a baby!! This was truly a magical stay, so glad we survived it! Thank you to the owner for such a beautiful well thought out home and thanks again to Laura James!
