Hostel Douro Backpackers

My daughter and I stayed in the hostel and we had a great experience. The hosts Pedro and Sara made us feel at home and very welcome. Also, the property is very well maintained and clean. I'll definitely be back.

Pedro and Sara are fantastic hosts

I cannot recommend this place enough! After reading all the amazing reviews of this hostel I decided to book it (even though we were doing a more luxury nice hotel kinda holiday). I am so glad I booked it. Every positive word written by others is more than true. The owners are so incredible. You get greeted by name at the door and then receive a full tour of the place, including introductions to all other guests. Pedro and Sarah are very knowledgeable. From the amazing walk through to what the town and area have to offer to general knowledge. They thought us about Port wine and Portuguese history. We loved the evenings on the rooftop terrace with everyone - hosted by Pedro and Sarah of course. My advice: book this hostel for at least 2 nights. You won't regret it.

Pedro and Sara are exceptional people and hosts, and couldn't have made us more welcome. We are mature travellers and had a wonderful experience. Enjoying a leisurely evening on the roof drinking wine with people from all over the world was lovely. The location is fantastic and our hosts were a mine of information. We would recommend going there to anyone.
