excellent emplacement. Venice beach, Santa Monica pear & lots of restaurants walking distance which is really nice in LA ! Really nice for family.
Beds should be changed. a little bit noisy.

The cottage is located in the backyard of the owner's house, where you can easily reach it via the garden door that has a code. The place is clean and really very well equipped. Washing machine, dishwasher including all the detergents, some breakfast items, snacks etc etc. This was very practical and useful.
The location is also very good, within walking distance of Main street that had plenty of restaurants and the Santa Monica beach. The pier however is 30 minutes walk and felt too far for us, so we had a take the car for that.
The place had an odour which was hard to describe and put us off completely every time we entered the place. My daughter described it as "horse stable" smell and I thought it was more like some anti-mold or insect repellent. When discussing with the owner she said she couldn't smell it and offered some scent candles. We tried, but it didn't help. The thing with smell is that you cannot really point it out any further when you smell something and the other says he doesn't. It was not a corner or rag that smelled, but the whole place. Leaving on the airco throughout the day didn't help as well.
Second, we found quit some moths that we had to kill before we wanted to open our luggage. The owner shrugged her shoulder on that one when we mentioned it.
Third, the master bedroom is very nice, but the second bedroom not so much. There were way too many 'personal' items in there like (kids) books, toys and ornaments, which made you feel you slept in someone else's room instead of a guest room. And the walls looked like they were sprayed with something which wasn't properly wiped off. The owner said it was due to bad paint job, but given the smell and moths I am not so sure.
All in all, too bad. This place has a lot going for, but these items ruined our experience.
