Malabar Hill

Our stay at Malabar Hotel was absolutely wonderful! From the peaceful atmosphere to the exceptional food and thoughtful service, everything made our experience truly memorable. One of the little details we really appreciated was the complimentary car covers, which gave us peace of mind knowing our cars were protected from potential damage. The hotel itself is incredibly peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The food deserves a special mention because it was absolutely amazing, especially the vegetarian options! There was so much to try that we actually had to stay for two nights just to work our way through the menu. Every meal was a delight, and the variety and quality of the vegetarian dishes were truly impressive. Breakfast was another highlight. I would highly recommend trying the floating breakfast for a special experience, and the banana bread is genuinely the best I have ever had! It is an absolute must-try. We were also impressed by the clear communication among the staff and the smooth handovers between team members. Everyone seemed well-informed and coordinated, which made the entire stay feel seamless and welcoming. Overall, Malabar Hotel is a wonderful place with a peaceful ambience, incredible food, thoughtful touches, and a team that genuinely makes the experience special. We left with lovely memories and would happily return.

We loved everything about our stay at Malabar Hill but the staff were the standout. Each person we encountered during our stay was genuine, kind and so helpful. On our checkout day the manager gave recommendations for where we should have dinner and even called and booked a table for us (the recommendation was brilliant). The pool area is beautiful and the food was exceptional (breakfast, lunch and dinner!). We couldn’t recommend Malabar Hill more highly. We also really enjoyed the complimentary Arrack based special cocktail that changed each evening.

Wow! What a fabulous place this is. Perched on a hill to the North of Weligama with commanding views over jungle, rice paddies and fields, with abundant bird life and monkeys! The resort exudes quality, with supremely comfortable villas with infinity pools to staff who make you feel very special. The quality of food befits a five star resort but at very reasonable prices. The on site Spa is superb with a wide range of treatments again at reasonable prices. Breakfast was a real treat with a variety of options inckuding both western and local. The best Eggs Benedict I have eaten surpassing Carton House, Dublin, my best for the last 5 years. A truly fabulous experience.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike.

i haven’t been spoiled this much from a hotel recently. from the reception to the cleaning staff, restaurant staff and other staff they are treating you like a family member. they think about all your needs. for example we could not able to attend a breakfast so they made us sandwiches and gave us bananas, bread an water in a isolated container. the villa was amazing, very comfortable bed. the restaurant was also great, we have never regretted about the meals we have eat, we still think if we had more time, we would have eaten so much more. if somebody is thinking about to stay in this resort, please do not think twice and book it.
