We had a wonderful stay in Northport for our week long winery trip! Lindsay helped us so much throughout the whole process and we couldn’t be happier with Visit Up North Vacation Rentals! La Petite Maison was as expected. Definitely could use a lot of updating, including A/C, taller shower head, and a needed mattress topper- mattress was super firm. The outside area is very relaxing and the beach is beautiful looking out onto Gull Island. Walking and biking distance to town for your morning coffee, meals, and shops. The house is on a quieter road so you don’t have to deal with loud cars in the night which was great after a long day experiencing all the towns and wineries in the area. Thank you so much Visit Up North for working with us- we will definitely be booking through you guys again!

We have stayed at La Petite Maison countless times since first renting the cottage in 1989. Through the years it has become our "home away from home". We've stayed every season except winter but only because the cottage closes for the winter. Obviously, we love it! Because we've spent so much time in the area, we didn't lament that the first 6 days of our stay brought the gales of November in October. The cottage's gas fireplace/stove not only provides extra warmth but also is a perfect cozy place for reading. The kitchen is also well equipped for making meals in so making soup was on the menu during those cold, wet, windy days. When the sun and warmer temperatures did arrive, we enjoyed time at the bay shore in the comfy lawn chairs. We greatly appreciate the owner's willingness to share their family cottage with us!

This was our 2nd time staying at this Northport cottage! The view is spectacular and the cottage has everything one needs for a complete unplugged getaway. Our only
complaint is the mattress is a bit uncomfortable and we did not get very good sleep while there. The view more than makes up for it!

The cottage was cute and cozy and had everything we needed. The lake view is lovely and we saw lots of deer right outside in the yard. The only downside was that we were not told about the ongoing construction next door, which started as early as 7:30 a.m. The owner came by and mentioned that we could reschedule, but how could we do that when we were already there? I'd check the status on the construction next door before renting.

La Petite Maison isn't our family cottage but the family who owns it obviously loves it in the way families for generations have been treasuring their lake front cottages. We have rented this cottage countless times since our first visit in 1989 and it is our "home away from home" whenever we can visit up north.

Beautiful yard and view of the lake. House is nice. Small and outdated, but worked for the two of us. Cobwebs in most corners and dead bugs in them, and didn’t feel like we should have to clean at all when paying that price per night, but it’s what we agreed to. Overall it was a good experience

My husband and I stayed at this cottage for our mini-moon, and it was perfect for a long weekend. The property was very private, the neighbors were quiet, and it was so nice having our own beach. The cottage was small, but we didn't need much space. There were a lot of amenities in the kitchen, and the overall cottage was clean. We were about 10 minutes walking distance from downtown, we were able to walk to dinner and to Barb's Bakery. We were also about a 15 minute drive to Leland. I would definitely everyone recommends visiting Northport, and staying at this cottage if you're visiting with a significant other.

It was a wonderful experience. Big beautiful well kept grounds. Nice little beach. Northport is our favorite vacation spot for all the secret reasons (best kept secret in MI). The house is cozy but I like cozy. It had everything we needed. Very comfortable.

I assumed that meant they were available . I was wrong and didn’t take smart TV. It was cool enough at night we were able to open windows but lack of AC added to musty smell throughout, A few inexpensive minor repairs would make a big difference.

My wife and I have visited MI's northwest region annually for many years, usually staying on the east side of the bay. This year, we were able to find and reserve "La Petite Maison" in Northport. What a nice find! The little cottage is very ample for two and features a large picture window looking out onto your private Grand Traverse Bay beach. The clean cottage provides all you need for a comfortable stay in one of the most desirable villages on the peninsula. It's far enough north that you are out of the hustle yet close enough to participate if that's your thing. We enjoyed visits to Christmas Cove and Peterson Park in (successful) searches for Petoskey stones, getting some staples at Tom's, dinner at Tucker's and most importantly - for me - the best pastries ever at Barb's Bakery. We were fortunate to have spectacular weather and autumn color throughout the week. We would seriously consider returning to this rental in future years.

Cozy, Scenic and Private
My wife and I found this delightful little waterfront cottage online for our annual trek north to enjoy MI's spectacular color. It was our first stay here and it was all we had hoped it would be. By far, the most satisfying feature of the cottage is its large window facing Grand Traverse Bay. Northport has all any vacationer would need and more. NW Michigan at color time can be very busy but this little hamlet offers nature's best at a slower pace and with welcomed privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

The rental was quaint, location is great, but the bed had a dip in it which made sleeping a challenge. We loved sitting by the water and walking into town for coffee in the morning. We would consider staying here again the next time we hang out along M22.

This rental was absolutely perfect for 3 women! Honestly I bet you could do 4 people as long as someone is okay with stay on the couch. We were up there for Leelanau Uncaged and it was a great location being walking distance to downtown. The beach and swing were awesome. No issues with hot water getting 3 women through in the mornings. Loved this cottage!!!
