Tolle Aussicht und sehr netter Vermieter

Very beautiful house. We got an Appartment below, with two bedrooms and a spacious living room with a kitchen. We could easily cook or, due to the many restaurants in Schenna, walk a couple of minutes to any restaurant of our choice. During our stay of a week we tried out 4 different restaurants and cooked home 2 times. Once arrived, we called the owner on the phone (turned out we could have also rang the bell, he lived in the same house) and he was very friendly. Showed us everything, offered the option of fresh bread in the morning (Semmeln) for a small extra payment, gave us "guest cards" with which we could get a discount at musea and ski lifts, and gave us multiple maps and folders of the area. We sticked with walking and hiking, but one could also chose to go to mini-golf, rent a bike or go to the swimming pool in the neighbouring hotels. Also at our appartment a huge garden was part of our deal, with a table tennis table (and you could borrow the bats) and one could also borrow table games from the owner if one wanted. All this for free. Additionally one could get a bottle of apple juice (locally made), lemonade or some alcoholic for shop prices at any moment from the cellar (we kept a score card and then payed at the end of the stay). And the water from the tap was drinkable too, although not calcium-rich. Wifi was good and reliable. The location is perfect for hikes and rich in culture. One can find multiple castles and churches, opt for a town visit (Merano can be walked down to in within 2 hours or reached by bus) or pick a hiking marchroute of various difficulty. Up, down, 1 to 5 hours, all possible. The map given by the owner was very helpful in planning those. There's also a local Spar in Schenna, open on Sunday and with reasonable opening hours.

Due to the water being calcium-poor, we had to be careful and opted for calcium-supplements during our stay. But they're also available in multivitamins in the Spar, and it's only a small thing to take a pill in the morning.
