The bed. It was comfortable.
I booked a room with a bath-tub. I was given a room with a shower. I tried to call the owner so many times because i wanted to confirm this. No answer. I drove 30 minutes to get here. When I got here the manager gave me an excuse about a group booking. That’s not my problem. Fact is I didn’t get what I booked for. I was lied too. There are a lot of other places I would have booked if this was communicated to me. I am completely disappointed. Value for money. 0 0 0 absolutely 0. The room was cold. No air conditioning, just 2 very old oil heaters which need to be changed. The drawers have spider webs inside. The shower was not clean on the floor. It had white soap marks. On top of that I had to drive on a gravel road for like 6 minutes. This should be visible on booking.com that there’s a gravel road drive for about 6 minutes. Terrible road.

Thanks Hylie for your awesome hospitality and assistance and advice regarding the best routes to take to avoid traffic congestions. Our stay was tranquil and quiet. Dinner and breakfast was excellent and the accommodation was so comfortable. 👌 Owl's Loft is very good value for money. We will see you again.

I loved absolutely everything about this place, what made it warmer was the host and her family. I literally felt like family staying at the lodge.
I had supper with the host and her family and wasn't charged. They also did my laundry but I wasn't charged. I am so impressed with this place.

The pool is big and clean, the grounds are immaculate. Tranquil area of Midrand, so relaxing. Hailey was amazing and is a fantastic host.

Staff & owner very helpful. Breakfast - fair.
Rooms not up to standard - curtain rails broken, toilet holder broken, shower nozzle broken & cupboard doors broken. No back up electricity & water stopped with load shedding. Security bad as gate did not open and close most of the time.

Imagine a county manor teleported into South Africa: the dining room laid for 16, the salon/library with shelves of books surrounding a dozen comfy chairs/sofas. Each room outfitted with vintage furniture, a bath with a separate toilet and steadying bars on the side of the showers. Breakfast presented w/ elegance. Pool, shaded walks, lounge chairs for relaxing.
Airport shuttle service can be arranged for ZAR650
These are not dislikes, just observations:
Do NOT follow your GPS. Get directions from the location.
You are not in an urban area: this is a quiet county estate about 38 minutes from the airport. Be prepared for the rolling blackouts.

A beautiful tranquil setting, exactly what we needed after a busy day. Stunning garden, really enjoyed the strolls and gorgeous smell of flowers. The food was excellent! Hylie, our hostess, was super friendly and always ready and available. Will definitely stay here again for any future travels.
