Holiday Inn Norwich North by IHG

Staff were very good in the hotel, great service and very accommodating of children.

The pool closing time did not match the advertised time, last entry is 30 mins before closing but we were asked to leave 30mins before the advertised time. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable too.

Food and service was very good and all the staff we met were helpful and friendly. The children enjoyed the animal seeking activity around the hotel, a wonderful and thoughtful activity. The staff in the pool area very helpful to our family thank you. Outstanding Customer Service.

Air-con in bedroom didn’t work properly. Some hotel areas need upgrading with decoration.

Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, nice food

Nothing

The staff were pleasant and helpful. Parking was good, and a park and ride into the city for £4 return was just a few metres away, so we could leave our car where it was and use the bus into the city. The aircraft from the airport could be barely heard and did not disturb our sleep. Even so, the room is not soundproof, and the neighbour could be heard, which is unfortunate because ours was talking to the USA all night on a video link. The bed was too firm for my wife, and they did not have any toppers to fix that, so we have to settle for an additional blanket to soften it. The food was actually of reasonable quality. Not outstanding but certainly good enough for an evening meal and reasonably priced. A good selection of drinks, although they were missing my favourite Cointreau when I wanted a liquor coffee. The location was ideal for access to the Norfolk Broads.

The walk-in shower had black mould round the tray. The tap fitting was loose and rattled. No power point on the left side of the bed. No USB power points anywhere in what is supposed to be a business-friendly hotel with conference facilities. Not in the bedrooms or anywhere else that I could see. Make sure you bring an adapter to charge your phone, tablet and, in my case, your camera. A charity event one evening meant that prime time evening meals were not available one night of our stay, and there were no alternatives in walking distance unless you liked McDonald's. I don't. The hotel needs updating; it all appeared tired.
