Holiday Inn Express London Croydon by IHG

The first room we were given had a terrible smell coming from the drain and the toilet, which also had not been cleaned properly. The staff were very kind and immediately changed our room. The guys at the reception and bar were always helpful and accommodating, as was the breakfast staff. On the second day of our stay, the housekeeper did not bring fresh towels or toilet paper, and the room was not cleaned, even though daily housekeeping was stated to be provided. Once again, the reception staff stepped in and brought us towels and other necessities. For this reason, I would say that the staff are definitely the hotel’s strongest asset. They later contacted the housekeeper, but when she finally arrived in the evening, we no longer wanted her to enter the room as we were already inside. We give the reception team a 10/10! The location itself is quite unusual and we had some concerns about the safety of the area. The food was average. There is a small kids’ corner, and the hotel itself has a clean and pleasant vibe. However, the rooms could definitely use more attention. There was quite a lot of dust and cobwebs in the corners. Overall, despite these issues, we did not leave with a bad impression of the hotel.
