Tomato Urban Retreat

5-person mixed dorm room, clean & spacious.

Just to take note, reservation was made many months ahead, and states that i am a senior, requesting for lower bunk bed. Try not to put senior in attic where the lift cannot reach. Carrying luggage up the steep steps to the attic is a little challenging :) I almost miss a step coming out of the room because the door opens immediately to a step downward.

The location is perfect. The room is spacious and comfortable, with a young and pleasant atmosphere. The shared space is quiet and inviting, and the kitchen is well-equipped and convenient. The keyless entry with a code is very convenient and makes coming and going easy.

There is no proper table or desk in the room. The shelf that is meant to serve as a table is too small to work or eat comfortably. Adding a small table or desk would make the room much more practical and comfortable.

This hostel felt like a home away from home. The staff was so kind and helpful. Other guests were quiet and respectful. It was great to have a cafe onsite for breakfast as well as places to sit down and relax, a kitchen, and a washer and dryer. It was an easy walk to the train station and tourist sites around town. The neighborhood was kind of funky and felt relatively safe during the day. Many restaurants and a daily farmers market were nearby. I appreciated having air conditioning to cool down the room as it became quite hot during the day. Great value for the price.

I requested a room facing the inner courtyard but got one facing the street. It was quite noisy during the day starting at 7 am and ending around 10 pm. The room sometimes had a funky smell, and the bathroom (especially the sink) was super small.

Good facilities, and the location was good.

The A/C was little more than a fan, and the room got far too hot.
