Hotel El Icaco Tortuguero

At the beach, very friendly staff always with a smile. Basic breakfast is available and dinner too. Overall a nice stay despite the bad weather

The shower pressue was a little bit weak...

The welcome we received here was lovely, the manager Joshi was wonderful, so helpful, kind and welcoming. The hotel is in a great location and the restaurant is great and the place is brightly decorated so always feels welcoming when to arrive.

The bathroom shower was rather basic, but did the job! Unfortunately the pool hadn't been cleaned sufficiently and was rather dirty which spoilt the experience. This could be easily solved with regular cleaning. Not due to the hotel, but you're not allowed to simp in the sea.

It was right on the beach that was amazing for sunrise view. Staff was friendly!

There were ants in our room but we were in the jungle so there are probably ants in every room there🤷‍♀️

Location location location! We turned right out the back door and the entrance to the National Park was steps away! A/C worked great! Bed was comfortable. The lady in the kitchen was sweet enough to fry eggs for us instead of the scrambled. Pool was cool and refreshing and just deep enough to tread water for exercise (too small to swim). They cleaned our room every single day! Hard to keep those floors clean. Price was right and appropriate for the property. It’s not a resort. But it was a clean room, near where we wanted to be! I should also say, that while we had a few small issues, the staff was always quick to respond!

Door lock/key was finicky at best. Had to get help to unlock our room a few times. Safe in room had to be worked on after we checked in to get it to work, but they got right on it. Of course, it isn’t secured to anything, so really, how “safe” is it? Had a small leak in ceiling after heavy rain.
