The South Lake - Ahangama

Returning visitor. Waterfront restaurant & bar across the road from the beach (great sunsets). Modern clean tidy resort. Well manicured gardens & 2 pool areas. On the Koggala Lake - boat trips to cinnamon island, temple, fish feet eating to name a few. Walking distance to many attractions & restaurants. Front office Staff welcoming & accomodating from the moment you enter the property, special mention to resident manager Sajith Kariyawasama (main reason to staying again) who made me feel at home , he went above & beyond to ensure my stay was pleasant & enjoyable, he organised my lake boat ride. Also special thanks to executive chef Chamara, great papadums & mango chutney, banana cake & handmade chocolates 😉 to name a few !! And talented housekeeping supervisor Lahiru & his team for the clean rooms & beautiful bed presentation & arrangement on my arrival, and excellent service given by restaurant team who went above & beyond to ensure I was well catered for, with nice music provided.. I highly recommend this property to anyone wanting an enjoyable holiday on the South Coast of Sri Lanka. Again a special thanks to Resident Manager Sajith for his excellent service & efforts provided 🩷 A great team working at South Lake Resort.

The staff is extremely friendly and caring. They made sure our stay was pleasant and prolific. Mr Thilan and his team we on their toes to meet our needs The hotel has a lake ,a train track beside it and a beach on the other side of the road.

The room was clean and comfortable.

The bed was two singles pushed together. The TV did not work, and about 10 people had to come to look at it to try and get it to work. They didn’t plug the fridge in. And the noise from the railway, which started just after 5 am was very loud.
