They make you pay for using the towels

The pictures do not do this house justice. It’s beautiful inside! Nice Japanese cedar wood post and beam construction but has been renovated with nice wallpaper and fresh new toilets and shower facilities making it very comfortable. You can smell the clean cedar wood as soon as you walk in the door. Upstairs gets lots of sun and the entire place was very clean and well-maintained. Being across the street from a grocery store is also very convenient.

Street itself is pretty busy - during the day people are constantly driving by to go to the lake and at night cars are loudly racing past right outside (with windows that don’t seal well so it’s pretty loud - we were woken up multiple times per night). During the day there is a bike rental and gyoza stand right next door playing loud music so it definitely feels like a bit of a party area. If you’re okay with that then this place is great but if you want a quiet retreat, this might not be the right property for you. We knocked a point off the review for the noisy location (this is not the host’s fault of course). I would also note that the beds are not the best - the double bed in the main bedroom feels bowed and we couldn’t sleep on it, opting instead for futons on the floor (which were also not the best). Our kids also complained the other beds were not great. This is the other point we knocked off. Value was just okay - similar prices to other properties in the area.

Bed was saggy

We were told is a villa, expecting a big building with yards, etc. turn out is a old double story building. Facilities in the house is old. stairs to the upper floor is quite steep, not advisable for older person to stay there. We only stayed 1 night instead of 2. checked out the next morning and move to another accommodation that we book last minute.
