Sun and Sea Plus Resort

The place was quiet with wonderful views. Very good breakfasts but paid extra for these. Everything was clean and well maintained. Bathrobes and slippers a welcome surprise. Staff friendly and helpful the pool was spotless but sadly couldn’t use it as we were there when Crete had hideous weather wind and rain for a whole week.

Absolutely nothing it was perfect!

Nice small hotel with a spacious room. The room was really simple, but had everything we needed. Pool towels were provided and exchanged every day. The location was fantastic. Plaka is a small, more local-like village. This gives a totally different experience compared to staying in mass tourist locations such as Platanias or Agia Marina. There are couple of nice tavernas and supermarkets within short walking distance. We really loved this as you can go on a day trip and then have a dinner near the hotel. That being said, you definitely need a car on this location. There is a good parking place at the hotel. The breakfast was more of a brunch. It’s a la carte but you can order as many things as you want. Food was delicious and high quality. We stayed for one week and worked our your way through the entire menu :) Some mornings the service took quite a while, but we ended up loving these slow mornings, and enjoying the breakfast views over the bay.

The pools were really cold, must be below 20 degrees. The bedroom air-con didn’t work. We told the reception about this, but then couldn’t bother to report it again as we didn’t really need it (our room had another air-con unit that worked as it should). Also, for us this hotel appeared filtered as an adults-only property at Booking.com. It’s not for adults only, or I don’t know, maybe they allow small babys as there were small guests among us. Not an issue per se, but we just thought we booked an adults-only hotel and had different expectations. However, I have to say neither of these things didn’t ruin our experience, I would return anytime!

Juices and coffees at breakfast could be better quality for a 4 star hotel, everything else was great :)

We had a nice stay with a spacious, clean and organized room with the sea view. The view of the room was super nice, we watched the sunset from there. The kitchen and minifridge is useful to prepare simple things. The shower and bathroom is super big. There is cleaning every day with clean towels. The airconditioning saved our lives on warm days. Tv has netflix and amazon prime, nice to watch in evenings. Super quite and peaceful area, we didn't hear any noise. Location is perfect, restaurants bars and supermarket in 3 mins walking distance, beaches in 10 mins drive distance. There are also nice little villages to visit in 10 mins drive distance with nice restaurants.

Our expectations from a 4 star hotel and the price we paid were a bit higher I think. Breakfast was 18 euros per person, found it very expensive so we didn't have it. The restaurant was closed. I would expect the bar to be open during the day, for coffee drinks etc at least to have while chilling at the pool. There was not much to enjoy on site in the hotel, I would like to spend more time there since we paid so much. In the room for the kitchen, I would expect at least salt pepper olive oil, basics to cook with. We even had these when we stayed at a caravan beginning of our holiday. Parking is not enough when the hotel is full, for the nights we came back late to the hotel around midnight, we had to park on small roads which we were not happy with. I think more effort is needed to make it a more lively hotel, would have like to enjoy it more.
