The room and location were really great. Also the reception of new guests was best I have experienced inJapan.
The provided supplies for the onsen were limited in relation to other hotels we visited in Japan. Furthermore the breakfast was Japanese only, I would have expected some western food available for breakfast

Amazing views from the rooms, lovely during sunset in the morning. Staff were helpful, even with the language barrier. Rooms were comfortable and the private bath was an experience.
Provided bus pickup from station, but the drop off bus finishes service at 9am which is annoying.

An amazing traditional Japanese hotel (ryokan), exceeding all expectations. Hotel staff went out of their way to greet the guests and make them feel welcome. Rooms are very stylish and clean, and the view of the Matsushima bay is gorgeous. Amenities include an open-air onsen (hot bath) with the view of the bay. Dinner was also very special and tasty. We had a lovely time here, and if I'm ever visiting Japan again, I'll make sure to return to this ryokan for a couple of days.

Our room had a lovely view over the bay. We also booked a private onsen which also had a great view. It is a short walk to all the sites in town.

The breakfast was nice but I have had better Japanese breakfasts. The view was exceptional and the onsen was lovely. The room was also a good size.
The staff on our way out was a little rude. The lady who greeted us was nice but there was an older man at check out who was quite cold. The onsen was also only outside on one side so we could only use it once due to the rotation.

The location and view from the room out over Matsushima Bay were ideal. They also handled a special request incredibly professionally. One of the first places I’ve stayed in a while where they went above and beyond.
The interiors could do with a little modernising, but compared to hotels of a similar nature, it was surprisingly well kept.

The staff were very nice and friendly.
Also, the view from the room was gorgeous, since it's very near in Fukuura bridge, it can be seen from window.
And the breakfast was delightful. A great experience and taste of a formal Japanese breakfast.
It was far from the Train stations.
But really close to the tourists spot.
They have a free shuttle but it starts at 9am.

Breakfast and dinner are very good, well prepared, and delicious.
Best location to see the Matsushima gulf and the bridge with the sun rises from our room (411).

The view of the ocean and islands. our room was very elegantly designed with indirect lighting and textured walls.

The food was outstanding (we are french and therefore very picky with this). The onsen facilities were also great although the watter was a bit too hot. The personel was definitely the best part, especially Nana, who spoke flawless English and really took the time to answer all questions and guide us through the Japanese culture. Special thanks to her!
It was extremely cold in the room and the confort was not that great.

The views from the room and from the onsen were great. The room was large, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was absolutely amazing - the best I've had in Japan. The staff were very helpful and spoke good English.
Breakfast was served in a windowless room which seemed a shame.

great views with relaxing bath’s both indoors or outdoor’s. Food is wonderful with a delicious selection differing each day.
We were fortunate to strike a very quiet period. But we were warned that during peak season the area can get very crowded including the hotel.

Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful. The room and Onsen in the hotel have full view of Matsushima.
The area becomes dark after 4:30pm in the winter so it’s hard to plan for the evening.

The only thing we didn’t like was sleeping on the floor, a little difficult to get up& down! Beds would have been better for us.

An Amazing place with the most beautiful view of Matsushima Bay. The staff was dedicated, very friendly, and helpful; they can speak English too. The hotel has several services like a Private Bath, a souvenir store, a lounge with an excellent view of the bay, and a foot bath, and they offer welcome drinks like matcha and other juices. The room is so good with a spectacular view of the Bay. I strongly suggest this place.

Exelent location, amazing view, the room was perfect in every detail, confortable and traditional, very friendly staff and very helpful with everything we asked for. All the attractions are near by in walking distance. An amazing and delicious breakfast that has existed my expectations. Very peaceful and relaxing environment. I will for sure retur again.
