What a beautiful house ❤ Every little detail in the house and the extras we could use. The Village is pritty and peacefull! We liked the cats also! Ooh and the magnificient view from the terrasses.

The host is amazing, we felt like being at home. The view is brethtaking and in the house everything is extremely cozy and very well thought of!

The cottage was beautiful. Inside is very comfortable, well equipped and artfully decorated. It has traditional features, stone walls and is very attractive. The air is cool up there and the thick walls keep out the heat. We didn't use the air con even in August. There are very good fly screens on the windows and a lovely breeze can come through the rooms. Two bathrooms and a washing machine made life easier. There was a good welcome pack of water and basic foods when we arrived. There are three terraces with comfortable furniture and amazing views down to the sea and villages. One is covered by a vine. It's very peaceful. The village itself is partially inhabited with a renovated restaurant, people's houses and farms. Some of it is abandoned and in ruins, perhaps from the earthquake. The historical feeling is very interesting. We enjoyed looking into old buildings. The residents we spoke to were very friendly. The road to the house was very steep and unmade. A sturdy, small car and a confident driver would be an advantage. There's easy parking in a square just above the house. Ithaca itself is unbelievably beautiful. We especially enjoyed Stavros, Frikes and Kioni. Polis beach is comfortable with sunbeds, a snack bar and toilets. You can hire paddle boards and boats. Frikes and Kioni are very picturesque. There are many small pebbly turquoise beaches to swim and snorkel from. Afales beach has beautiful turquoise sea but only has shade in the afternoon. If you like quiet traditional beauty, north Ithaca is for you. The south of the island and Vathy are more busy.

Nothing but I did find the mountain roads a bit scary and it's a drive from the village.

An amazingly furnished, and catered for (both basic foodstuffs and amenities, the latter for kitchen, bathroom and laundry / utilities), cottage in a spectacular location. The upstairs shower is also stunning. Friendly and informative hosts who give you plenty of privacy, but are closely nearby in case help is required. This cottage would have to rank as one of the best places we’ve stayed in, and we’ve been to many...

The only downside of the place is access to the property itself. It is a very winding road, and expect to take most hairpin bends in 1st gear, unless you’re happy to stall / proceed backwards! Also, the turn-off to the cottage’s long driveway in the town of Exogi is also tricky. However, the upside to all this is the location with amazing water and lower-village views, and the town itself. The newly opened cafe-tavern is a must, as well as the lookout with a little church and bell tower you can climb up at the top of the hill (which has spectacular 360o views), and is only a few minutes (also tricky) drive, unless you have the time and fitness to walk up - much safer...

The cottage was 'special', very nice, clean, well-equiped and comfortable. The views from the terraces were breathtaking. The area was quiet, with goats' bells and wind's sound only. Our host helped us to get to the house, preapred local food and drinks. Just everything was excellent. We used the tips from host's guide to travel around the unique island. You need to have a car because the cottage is on the top of the hill.
