We were upgraded to Red House, since many rooms were available. This is the guest house on the other side of the street, with the same, incredibly kind owner. The host was so nice to have us checked in much earlier - again, probably because of room availability, but it was entirely his good will to give us access to the room already in the morning. The house is nicely located, 30 min walk from the park entrance, by a small, side, very quiet street. A convenience store, some restaurants and a bus stop are down the street, 5mins walk. In the room all the necessary amenities are provided. The host gives informative instructions on where to go (provides you with a map), where to eat, etc. The overall quality of the stay was actually much better than what you could have expected for that price.

Staff was really friendly, the owner helped us get to the national park and we could check in early and that was great because we could enjoy our day at the national park!

The room was old- fashion. There was a lot of dust under the bed and behind the door. Very old curtains and a lot of light came through at night. The bed was not big and even though we were very well located ( just next to the seoraksan park) I think that 90€ for one night is too expensive for what is was.

The family running the hotel was incredibly kind, our room was clean and the bed more than comfortable. We had breakfast at the red house across the street, which was also good. On top of that, we were able to buy the tickets for the park right at the Hotel. The check-out was smooth, and they were kind even though we were an hour late.

please keep in mind, that I have a european view: Pros: - large room - high quality mosquito net on window available - fridge available - room was never stuffy (even in august / raining season) and could be cooled easily with air con - beautiful view on surrounding mountains (even if you get a room on the other side of the house, you have beautiful view on the nature) - relativly good bus connection (7 AM ~ 8 PM every 20 min) - flawless WiFi and TV - huge comic collection (korean only) available through owner (nice for kids) - arcade video games are also available - restaurants and 7-Eleven are very close (~ 300 m walk). If you want more, you should take the bus Neutral: - travel time from Sokcho Express Bus Terminal to accomodation ~30 min (the other Terminal adds another 30 min to the local bus travel time since the other Terminal is located in the other half of Sokcho) - due to surrounding nature, many mosquitos available

Cons: - breakfast relativly pricy (7000 won per day) and includes korean and/or american breakfast - american breakfast consists of toast, butter and strawberry jam --> not the best variety - fridge and bath should have been cleaned at least once in the last few years (but it's Korea) - the house (Bandalgom) seems very old and as if it is used until it breaks down. Basement is an accessible storage room (not good for kids, but nice if you like to stay in a house with a slight ghost touch ;) ) - relativly high price for what you get

Amazing value for the location. Very close to Seoraksan. Very friendly owner also owns Red House across the street. I was upgraded to a room in the Red House and it was very spacious room with private bathroom and tub.

I’m very happy I stayed here. The host was very welcoming! He made every effort to make my stay more comfortable. Not only was the staff helpful and kind the host also helped me plan my hike (in English). The wifi was also very good which was a necessity for me. Location was perfect, with a beautiful view and the stay was serene and beautiful.

The location was very with it being close to Seoraksan and Sokcho. It was very quiet with very beautiful views.

While the room was clean, the bathroom was not. There was some hair in the bathtub and mold on the walls.
