Boutique Hotel Astoria

Loved the location. Rooms really clean. Very warm welcome from the moment we arrived. Staff lovely apart from one waiter at breakfast. Good choice of breakfasts. Comfortable beds. We had a room with a view of the bay which was lovely.

Lovely to eat breakfast in the square - until the cruise ships came in after which we felt we were part of the tour experience. Our waiter the first morning didn’t explain that we needed to pay for additional coffee and simply said service was not included which we thought meant we were supposed to pay a tip. The next morning he effectively refused to serve us and when one of our party went to speak to him with the money to pay he walked off. The other waiter who then served us was lovely and we paid the extra coffees and gave him a tip.

The location inside the walls was wonderful for exploration. Loved to take breaks in the room while still being in the walls. The room was large and beautifully done. Looked a little worn. I did mention the black mold that was in the bathroom sink, so hopefully that was taken care of. The staff was great! The breakfast was plentiful and yummy, along with wonderful staff.

The most stunning property in an unbeatable location in Old Town. We felt like royalty as our suite was the only one with a balcony. We overlooked the square which was special too! Breakfast was lovely and the staff so helpful. Wished we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended!

A/c worked well. Large room. Quiet if too faced back of hotel despite being in boisterous old town. Staff helpful for booking long distance taxi.

It is an old property needing improvements: in our room part of wood floor was torn up; they gave us old thin, thread bare towels until we complained: I had to ask for a box of tissues 3 times and was initially told that clients used toilet tissue instead; attitude generally unwelcoming- had notebook in room with list of everything in room and cost to client if anything was damaged; breakfast included but quite limited- restricted to one hot drink, same limited choices daily.; throw rugs and other items in room warm out.
