Hotel Lumen Zwolle

For us it was a great location - near where my family lives so only a 10 min drive. King size bed was super comfortable. Great walk in shower. There was a Nespresso, electric kettle as well as a fridge which was great for making tea and coffee. Desk staff were super friendly and helpful. There was interesting art work and lighting throughout the property. Parking was right outside for around 5 Euros a day. Free would have been better but not horrible charges.

Very little! But why oh why only have little espresso cups in the rooms which completely fill up from the Nespresso machine and are impossible to drink out of without burning your hands? We asked the desk staff for larger mugs and they found some for us to borrow during our stay. Obviously whoever designed that coffee feature didn’t actually use it! Breakfast was a buffet with an omelette bar. We dislike buffets - in our opinion not very hygienic even though everything was covered and nicely presented but still, there’s all the serving pieces that get handled by all the guests. Eeew. We ordered an omelette ( ok but small) and fresh juice and coffee. Which was fine but not great value for the 21 Euro buffet charge. The hotel should have some à la carte options or a way to have a smaller breakfast ( coffee, croissant and a joghurt or fruit) for a smaller charge. Not everyone has the appetite or time for a buffet breakfast. Me - I prefer to have service. There was no gift shop in the hotel or a way to buy a Zwolle souvenir and with no shops nearby that would have been nice.

Nice quality hotel. They always let me park my motorcycle in their staff entrance/garage.

Price! But you get what you pay for

Great friendly staff. Well equipped with all we needed.

A bit out of the way. But not problematic.

It was very clean, modern and comfortable. It was only a short walk to the town and parking was free.

The pillows were very firm. I thought the breakfast was quite expensive.
