Peaceful, beautiful location, reasonably priced stay, and excellent restaurant at the hotel. Staff was very accommodating, even those that did not speak much English were able to help me and we found ways to communicate (and the fact I only speak English is my fault, not theirs!). I ate the best meal of my trip at this restaurant!
The campers and cabins surrounding the hotel can take a little away from the beauty of the land, but I had only great experiences during my stay.

Gorgeous view
People need to be made aware of the long drive on the steep mountain single lane windy road. The worst part of the hotel is the awful trailer park surrounding it. The photos are deceiving. It took away from the beauty of the beautiful surroundings. We couldn’t take a pretty photo without trailers in it. There are scores of trailers right up to the hotel. For the cost of the hotel the breakfast was meager. Never again and we come to Appenzell often.
