We had a great experience staying in a Rorbu. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed, including a private bathroom and kitchen. The remote location was peaceful, with amazing hikes nearby, while grocery stores and malls were conveniently accessible within 10 km. The owner was very helpful and responsive. Overall, a wonderful stay and a great place to experience the beauty of the area. Highly recommended!

One thing to note is that the stairs to the upstairs bedroom are quite narrow and steep, so extra care is needed when going up and down. I guess this is typical of a Rorbu cabin.

La zona giorno è molto spaziosa e la cucina è rifornita di ogni tipo di utensile che possa servirvi, ci sono state date 2 spugne nuove e detersivo piatti, scottex e sacchi per la spazzatura, gli asciugamani erano abbondanti e morbidi, i prodotti da bagno come doccia corpo, shampoo e balsamo sono favolosi!! Per ogni dubbio potete scrivere da booking e vi rispondono subito e in modo gentile.. è stato un soggiorno perfetto!!!!

Staff was helpful via messages, but there is no one present at reception. Shower was hot.

It takes a lot for me to write a bad review, but this property was deficient in so many respects. We arrived after biking all day in the cold rain and the place was cold and smelly (roach spray?) . To pay nearly $600 for such a dump is almost fraudulent. The three bedrooms were up (essentially) a ladder…very dangerous. I realize this is part of the rorbuer concept, but guests that have any mobility issues should not book. Moreover, this should have been disclosed in the listing. The beds were narrow and uncomfortable. The rest of the furniture was like Goodwill quality. Linens/towels essentially like dishrags. My husband and I noted that this property is barely above Youth Hostel level. Additionally (this is not the fault of the hotel) , there are very few dining options in Ballstad. The property owners clearly are making no attempt to upkeep or maintain the property or buildings. The onsite manager seems to be doing her best, but the investment is not there.
