Near to the church and other facilities
Not much of the parking inside. Anyway, I can’t be bothered by it since parking outside is safe.

Warm and comfortable Shared facilities were very good. Good to mix with travellers from many countries and of all ages

The check-in process was easy. There were no staff around and the keys were in a kiosk.
Very clean, tidy and comfortable for a hostel. My room was clean and well presented, and the shared kitchen facilities were good and had everything I needed. The property looks like it has mostly been refurbished and overall felt well looked after.
The location is reasonably close to the lake and was a convenient base for exploring Tekapo. Overall, it was a comfortable, clean and pleasant place to stay.
Parking is quite limited, and I ended up having to park on the road.
The walls and doors are quite thin, so I could hear both the early risers and the late-night guests. A few areas also look like they still need some finishing touches following the refurbishment, such as paintwork and basic repairs in the bathrooms.
None of these were major issues. I think it is a value for money plave, clean is key!

Comfy bed
Communication is definitely not a strength; the room was right beside the shower, which was dripping for a long time every time someone used it, and it's one of those with metal floor, so you can imagine the noise.
