Well placed stop when the N2 is too challenging to navigate. Beautiful surroundings against the mountain. Clean rooms, comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Delicious breakfast included with the room. Safe and secure parking. Perfect rest on the last leg of trip to Cape Town.

We had a lovely family stay and really enjoyed the time together. Our room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for the night. The highlight for us was definitely the food — dinner at the restaurant was absolutely delicious, and the buffet breakfast the next morning was excellent with a great variety. We also really appreciated that breakfast was included in the room rate. Overall, we had a pleasant and relaxing stay.

We did feel that some of the facilities were a little over-advertised compared to what we experienced. The indoor play area was quite disappointing, as it did not feel very clean or well maintained. We were also surprised to learn that the indoor heated pool could only be used if you had booked a spa treatment, as this was not clear to us beforehand. The putt-putt course was also very basic and only kept us entertained for a short while. None of these things ruined our stay, but we do feel the facilities could be better maintained and described more accurately so that guests know what to expect.

Breakfast options were good and plentiful

We stayed over the heritage day long weekend and experienced persistent knocking banging and shouting from work being done in the unit next door. My husband and I each fell ill on day 1 and 2 of our long weekend, which did mean we spent more time in room than planned. However, despite 4 separate complaints over the two days, the noise levels did not change. The one that was most annoying was being woken up by this noise at 7.15am. Most staff were apathetic, barely looking up to greet (with the exception of Dannelle) and the same is true for the general manager, who never once bothered to acknowledge us. There is a strong stench at the kids play area, which looks to be emanating from effluent spilling out of an outflow pipe not far from the kids. Great for the lovely green grass, not so much for the kids.
