We had a wonderful stay. Even though there was a last minute glitch with the apartment we rented we were given an alternative apartment in the same building. Jon's communications were amazing. His video about the apartment and checkin check out process was a great help. Would also highly recommend the apartment location.

Jon’s attention to detail for this rental is great. His intro video was the best I have ever seen. There were no issues with the penthouse for my family of four adults. We will be back soon! This is a great location and it is walking distance to most everything. The apartment is in good condition and it all worked as designed. We had no issues at all.

We could not have picked a better place to stay! This penthouse is in a great location with several bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance. Great views of the city and very friendly people in the building. Absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Iceland! We had a blast!

My husband and I stayed in the apartment during the tail-end of our April 2017 trip to Iceland. Reykjavik is not a large city, and the locations of many of the things to see and do are concentrated in an even smaller area. The apartment was perfectly situated, on the main shopping street, to all of those things. Thus, it was a quick walk to sights, restaurants or just people watching. While it was on the main street, it was also well-secured and felt very safe. The interior of the apartment made very efficient use of its footprint, with the lower level very open yet cozy. Both the downstairs bathroom and the upstairs bedroom were spacious. It was also located across the street from the Sandholt Bakery, which was a great spot for breakfast. And, it was a straight shot down Laugavegur to the city centre. Plus, communication with the owner of the apartment was always easy (and prompt). We would highly recommend the apartment for its great location, amenities and use of space, as well as ease of communication.

My husband and I stayed 4 nights in this fantastic apartment. It was clean, it has everything you need (including a hair dryer, which was handy as I forgot to pack mine) and is tastefully furnished. Sofa and bed are really comfy too, which is great after a day sight seeing. This is an ideal place to stay when exploring beautiful Reykjavik. It is located on the main high street, next to some good restaurants and walking distance to all the main attractions. It also has a lovely view both at the front and back of the apartment. If you've booked a trip, all the main companies pick you from the door or very close by (two doors up). Jon is a very warm and friendly host. He is incredibly responsive and made us feel very welcome in his apartment. Overall we had a fantastic trip to Iceland and having a lovely place to stay, with a really lovely host just added to our experience.

Our family stayed in this apartment for a week and used it as a jumping off point to our adventures in Iceland. Upon our arrival, Jon the property owner met us and showed us around the apartment. It was very well equipped with all of the disposable products you would need, like paper towels, toilet paper, laundry and dish detergent, etc. We made use of the washing machine, which allowed us to bring less clothing for the trip. Everything functioned very well. The apartment also came with a wifi hot spot and local phone, which we made extensive use of when we were out and about. The apartment was well decorated, clean and comfortable. The views from the apartment were stunning. It was nice to be able to enjoy breakfast and look down on Laugavegur Street, (which is one of the main streets in town) and watch everyone going about their day or look up and see the Hallgrímskirkja towering over the city. The apartment location is perfect, right in the middle of it all. We found absolutely no need for a car as Reykjavik is a very walkable city, with walking paths and paths either over or under major road ways. When we ventured out of town, we simply booked through a tour company who picked us up at the apartment door and dropped us off after the tour was done. There was a Bonus grocery store a few spots down from the apartment which we made use of to buy breakfast and snacks for throughout the day. Aside from providing us with a great apartment to stay in, Jon was a fantastic host! On our arrival he was able to book us brunch at Vox (highly recommend), which was fantastic. Also, on our departure, he allowed us to store our luggage at his apartment until we got our bus to leave for the airport. We saw many wonderful things and had many great experiences while visiting Iceland. Having this apartment to use while we were there certainly played a part in making our trip a great one!

We stayed at this beautiful penthouse apartment as we were winding down our honeymoon in Iceland. The location is absolutely perfect. There is a Bonus (grocery store) just downstairs with all the items you will need to cook a meal at home. If cooking isn't what you're looking for....don't fear there are some amazing restaurants and the best bakery ever within a couple of blocks. We went to Sandholt bakery the first day we arrived and we ended up eating there for 3 of our 5 meals. They have amazing sandwiches!! The penthouse was clean and the check-in was simple. The loft with the king size bed is perfect. We slept great and felt incredibly safe in the locked down building. I would highly recommend paying for the underground parking! We really can't say enough great things about this apartment....if you're planning on staying in Reykjavik for a couple of days or even a couple of weeks I would highly recommend staying here!! Jon is fabulous to work with and incredibly responsive. The hotspot was a lifesaver on many occasions!!

What an amazing experience! I rented Jon's apartment for a week in late November -- it was my first trip to Reykjavik, and I was traveling alone. As is usual for flights from the USA, I arrived quite early in the morning. Jon met me at the apartment and took me on a thorough tour of the amenities. He was extremely gracious and friendly throughout my stay. Jon also includes a local cell phone and wifi hotspot with the rental -- the hotspot was extremely helpful, particularly during my Golden Circle tour, where my cell phone was spotty with reception. Jon also provides a very well-organized guide in the apartment with details on how to work the television (plus included AppleTV) and other amenities, listings of the recommended nearby restaurants, and more. The apartment itself is beautiful. It is well maintained, extremely clean, and has everything you would want during a stay in the city. The location is second to none. There is a full grocery store less than a block away, two excellent bakeries within a few blocks, and countless restaurants (many with takeaway options if you want to go back to your apartment). It was so centrally located that I would often find myself stopping by (as I was walking with no car) to drop off souvenirs or to pick up a different jacket multiple times each day. The balcony from the top-floor bedroom looks to the south and has an excellent view of winter's sunrise, sunset, and Hallgrímskirkja. It also looks over the central shopping street, which was beautifully decorated for the holidays during my visit. For those wondering about stairs, there are none until you get into the apartment -- there is a small curving staircase up to the bedroom. To get to the apartment, you go through the (secured) building, on an elevator, and along a short outdoors balcony / walkway to your front door. That walkway faced north, plus there were north-facing windows that you could open from the bedroom. I was able to see the northern lights from those spaces, and the walkway was an excellent place to set up a camera tripod. If you visit (and you should -- and you should rent this apartment!), Hotel Alda is about half a block away. The Flybus stops there, so I used it as my pickup/dropoff point. Additionally, the local tour companies will also use Alda as a pickup point, so it was extremely convenient.

This is the perfect place to stay. Jon was a great host. He met us at 7am after we flew all night from USA. The apartment is in the center of town. What that means is it is within walking distance of everything. There is a tourist office across the street where we booked all excursions. There is a grocery store next door to the apartment which makes getting food very convenient. The tour companies come to the tourist office to pick you up for your daily excursions so once again the apartment is in the perfect spot. We took the FlyBus from the airport (KEV) and it dropped us off about 1/2 block from the apartment. The apartment itself is very clean and Jon supplies all necessary supplies. There is wifi and a television to relax with after a hard day of sightseeing. The apartment also provides great views of the water, on the backside of the apartment, and great views of the street and surrounding buildings of the city on the front side. I would not hesitate recommending this apartment to family or friends or anyone else going to Reykjavik!!!!!!! Thanks Jon for helping to make our vacation to Iceland enjoyable.

This is a terrific apartment rental right in the heart of Reykjavik. The apartment is right on a main street in the heart of town and within walking distance to restaurants, Hallgrimskirkja, Harpa, the harbor and downtown shops. The apartment was exactly as pictured in the listing, and Jon was a terrific host. The hotspot that he gave us to use during our stay was invaluable, as we based in Reykjavik but did day trips each day which required navigation to outlying areas. The apartment was clean upon our arrival, and the building is quiet and very secure. Great place to stay and we would happily recommend and hope to stay there again ourselves!

If you enjoy having an amazing location near all the famous shops, bars, and restaurants, then choose this place. Not much else to say but how incredible the location is, apartment is a gem, and Jon is a pleasure to speak with. Oh and if you travel often like us, you know how wonderful a local phone and wifi portable hot spot is. Check your dates and book now. Travel safe!
