I so loved my 6 day stay at this peaceful cottage on the pond. The view of the pond and chirping of the birds are all you need in life sitting in the screened in porch while eating breakfast and having coffee every morning! Every day I would drive just 10 minutes to First Encounter Beach. The sunsets there were breathtaking! Linda was so kind when I reached out to her about a problem with the internet. She was quick to get it resolved. She keeps the place very clean. The bed was so comfortable! The kitchen was perfect for cooking meals. I can't wait to stay at this special place again!

My husband and I wanted an off-season getaway; being on water was a priority for me, even though swimming season was past. This was everything I could have desired: while the cottage is pretty much right on Route 6 and you can hear it, somewhat, it does NOT feel like being on a major route! It's down a secluded dirt lane that you can barely even spot from the road, descending steeply towards the pond. So, there's the advantage of being right on Rt 6 if you need to drive anywhere, but it does NOT feel that way; the pond is right there, with a lovely dock suitable for sitting any time of day. We also ate as many meals as we could on the screen porch. The location is also ideal for biking; it's easy to get to the Cape Cod Rail Trail, as well as a gorgeous trail down to Coast Guard beach. The Eastham Superette is only a 5 minute bike ride away. We spent as much time on the water as we could, in the kayak and rowboat (in fact, an oarlock broke right away and Claude had constructed and installed a new one by the next day!). I knew I was going to have to do some work, including an online course; the wifi is strong, but I did have to reset the router a couple of times -- nothing to be done about that. We did watch some streaming TV as well. The bed was super comfortable, and the shower was good (quick and plentiful hot water). Kitchen well and simply equipped. Do note that it's bring your own linens, which we were prepared for, but while that was historically pretty common for Cape rentals, it seems to take some visitors by surprise (especially if you're not arriving by car). The whole aesthetic is pitch-perfect Cape cottage -- very homey and attractive. I'm already dreaming of coming back same time next year -- this is my absolute favorite time to be on the Cape, when most of the tourists have gone, and the weather is perfect and crisp. So grateful!
