Location is excellent for that part of the island. We chose that location as it was close to a hospital my wife had to attend and we were not disappointed. The building is beautiful and incredible. Just sit there and look up and enjoy. (I wish it was my house).Spotlessly clean. Well maintained. Excellent breakfast, Fresh fruit, meat and cheese selection. cooked food. ( I am now a big fan of baked eggs).Pastries and a good selection of tipples behind the bar, (even Islay Mist) and dont forget the "honesty bar". Right beside our room. BEST of all. The staff. We dont speak much Spanish. They dont speak much English and why should they, but we got along just great. They couldnt be more welcoming and helpfull..... Wonderfull people. You wont be disappointed in this hotel, I can assure you. And 1478 is a historic landmark

Mattress and pillows in our room were ready for replacement. This was signalled to management at checkout and were told these would be changed.
