Hôtel Gounod

Hotel Gounod was perfectly located in the centre of St Remy de Provence walking distance from many cafes and restaurants as well as the ancient ruins. The pool area was gorgeous and bathroom was spacious. The sound insulation was excellent in the hotel as we visited during the Votive Festival and there were amusements and concerts immediately outside the hotel but we could not hear anything. Decor was quite quirky.

Similar to many other historic properties it felt a bit stuffy inside and took a while to cool the room with air con however the historic features of the building were beautiful. Though I liked the scent of the room fragrance within the common areas I found the amount of fragrance a bit strong for my nose but it might not be an issue for others.

great location lovely hotel perfect for our one night stay

the entire hotel and room were so beautifully decorated! the balcony is amazing and charming view of the hotel courtyard. staff was so kind and helpful! the bed was so comfortable and extremely well located!

Our room. The room seemed to be an afterthought built over maybe a pool house. Steep rusty staircase to get up to the room. Bedroom on another level up a steep staircase also. Toilet room separate on lower level and tiny. Shower and sink in another area and the shower was a small handheld wand that if you turned it all the way on, it would spray only the ceiling. Could only barely turn it on to be able to use it mounted. Zero storage in the bedroom for clothes, only on the lower bathroom /shower sitting area. Very little privacy on the bathroom level as only a sheer curtain in front of the door/entry and I could easily see/be seen in rooms across the way
