Essentially nothing! Highly recommendable

The lady on reception (Manon?) was extremely pleasant and helpful, showed us to our room, which was kindly upgraded, and generally explained everything we needed to know. The hotel itself is very clean and functional but with some lovely features, our balcony overlooking the lake being one of them. The gardens, though small are pleasantly kept and Rafael the gardener manages wonders in an an exceptionally dry summer.

Its a bit of a walk down to the main town which feels further on the way back up (it was hot and humid when we stayed) but to be honest, compromises are essential sometimes and we really wanted on site parking, which was a godsend.

I would automatically award an extra point to any hotel that installs a magnifying mirror in the bathroom. On that basis ( and the fact the magnification was large and the mirror perfectly positioned for contact lenses/eye make-up etc) would score this hotel 11/10. It maybe lost a point, though, with no way of cooling a south-facing room in very sultry night conditions. A ceiling fan or freestanding fan to move surround would have been appreciated. That said we would have no hesitation in returning or recommending to friends.

BEWARE of early morning 6:45 am construction noise that won’t be ending any time soon!! For the price, there is no one available at the desk to help with stuffy hot rooms or provide more than two small towels. We did not use the spa services which is really only massages. CASH Only on site if you want a self-serve glass of wine.
