An older building with amazing views from its garden of the glacier and mountains. Situated 10 minutes uphill from the train, perhaps 15 mins from the ski gondola up to the pistes. Self check-in and clean bedroom suitable for groups and young families, offers continental breakfast in a spacious breakfast room

Friendly but few staff, the residence felt like a self-stay accommodation rather than a hotel.

The view was nice and the beds were comfortable.

The property was a little run down, for example the balcony was very weathered and the wood was splintering. You couldn’t walk on the balcony without shoes. A little bit of maintenance would improve the property significantly. Also a mini fridge in the room would have been good.

Incredible views from the guest room! Stunningly beautiful panoramic views of the mountains/glaciers/village. Wildly exceeded my expectations. Watch from the balcony as the Jungfraujoch-bound cog-trains pass and return quietly within a stones-throw of the hotel. The room has a calming vintage appeal with the necessary conveniences of a modern hotel plus an electric hot water kettle, coffee and tea, etc. Did I mention the balcony? Wow! I spent most of my first day marveling at the views. The continental breakfast includes fresh eggs for boiling, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, still-warm loaves of whole grain breads, and various dried fruits and nuts. I initially thought it was a little pricey until I sat down and realized it was quite reasonable for the variety and convenience it offered.

If I have to complain about something, it might be the high sides on the bathtub. I am 76 years old and grossly out of shape; my doctor says I'm obese. So I had some trouble getting in and out of the tub.

Overall the room was large and reasonably clean. The location was good, about 10 mins walk from Wengen station.

There was almost never anyone at reception so if there is something urgent there will not be anyone to help you. The staff are contactable via phone, and they are polite and friendly, but since they are not physically at the location there are limited things they can do. The hotel itself was very old and there are only the minimum facilities and not super clean and put together, eg room service did not refill toilet paper, stains on the wall and carpet, sticky floor in bathroom, the window in the bathroom was very run down and you could feel cold wind coming in while showering. There was bad soundproofing - we could hear people walking around and dog barking at night.
