I have stayed here before so no surprises. I love the location. clean and quiet even though it is on a busy corner.

Beautifully decorated, lovely bed and linens. Good bathroom.Extremely clean and cleaned daily.The fact that we could use the beach car park for free.

Opposite bar and extremely noisy at night. The fact that we were asked to pay 2 euros for the two small bottles of water in the fridge as we left was rather petty. The option of breakfast mentioned in previous reviews wasn’t actually offered and clearly wasn’t encouraged.

Mornings were disaster! Too much noise, even if you walk without shoes you can hear who is in the hall. Cleaning ladies were too noisy, shouting from room to room to each other and does not respect people sleeping at 10 or 11AM. I was worried about the noise from outaide but actually the problem was inside... Also there were small cocoroches in the bathroom, ok for me but ladies might go crazy :) To sum up i would not book again ONLY because the noise, everything else was perfect

I was staying here with my 4 months old baby daughter for 3 nights in July 2022. We had the only room on the second floor, with direct access to the roof top patio with ocean view. It was brilliant. We basically had the whole roof top patio all for ourselves. From the bed, we were looking on plants and a seating area that belonged to the room. Behind that were several chairs and tables that are supposedly used for breakfast normally, but nobody was using them during the time of our stay. Everything was super clean and the room was very nice. It even had a fridge. It was basically two rooms, a bedroom and a lounge area with sofa and TV, that were separated by a wooden room divider. The location was very central in the old town with cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, supermarkets and the beach all in close walking distance. The only downside was that it could get rather noisy at night since there were bars right next to the hostel. However, we found a perfect solution for this: the sofa was convertible to a bed, so we slept in that part of the room - if you close the door between the two areas it is nice and quite there. The ladys at reception were very nice and helpful - thank you very much for that! I wish we could have stayed longer but the Hostal was unfortunately fully booked for the following two nights. Therefore, we had to move to another place for our last two nights which cost almost the same but was a lot less nice than Hostal El Alojado de Velarde.
