Hotel Castillete

Posizione insuperabile. Ottima per attività in città e per l'accesso al mare. Vista dalla camera (vista mare) insuperabile, con il sole che nasce dall'oceano, all'alba, di fronte al poggiolo. Ottima la nuova spiaggia, a pochi passi, molto ampia, protetta e poco affollata. Poco importa, e non evidente, il fatto che sia completamente artificiale. Purtroppo durante il mio soggiorno davanti all'hotel c'erano lavori in corso sulla strada. Il panorama assolutamente fantastico del passato con le onde oceaniche di fronte alle finestre è andato un po' perso. Le rifiniture e l'arredamento sono consistenti con la categoria a 3 stelle dell'hotel.

Poca sicurezza, la porta finestra del poggiolo, al primo piano, non puo' essere bloccata. La cassaforte è disponibile solo con pagamento extra. La tenda davanti alla porta finestra è solo oscurante. Dato che dalla strada si vede dentro la camera, sarebbe utile una tenda supplementare semitrasparente, altrimenti si sta sempre al buio. Colazione dentro ad un bar, sembra una forzatura. Attenzione a non chiedere nulla al bar perchè si paga extra, anche un caffè. Ampi lavori in corso di fronte all'hotel, per sistemazione del lungomare.

Excellent position on the seafront. Good view across the beach towards the harbour. So easy to walk from the apartment into the Old Town. Close to restaurants, cafes, beaches, supermarket & key attractions, Bus terminal a 15 minute walk away. The apartment was spacious, exceptionally clean and serviced daily. The foyer, entrance lounge, passages and stairs were also wonderfully clean. The receptionists were very helpful and pleasant - all of them. The beds were comfortable, although I found the pillows a bit too high and firm. Lovely hot shower and a spacious shower enclosure. The kitchenette area was well laid out and had the basic, necessary kitchen utensils to be able to cook and eat there. It did have an induction hob & fridge. Additionally there was a table and chairs on the balcony, so we could sit out there, drink a nice cold beer and watch the world go by and also eat out there. We found it perfectly suited our requirements for the 3 nights we spent there. Parking was free and available on the street and we didn't encounter a problem getting a space.

As with all hotels we could hear the other guests coming and going, and could hear the very heavy footed people thumping across the floor in the room above us. One's only means of ventilation is to have the balcony door open. This wasn't a problem for us, except at night when you're trying to sleep, you do pick up noise from the street - mostly when the commuter traffic starts in the earlier morning hours.
