It was old world and the staff were amazing worked long shifts food was excellent

This is an historic property with lots of character. Given its age, allowances must be made for its quaintness. The restaurant area is full of character with traditional wooden beams and uneven floors throughout the building. All topped by a magnificent thatched roof. Comfortable beds. The breakfast options include traditional and more sophisticated such as egg and smoked salmon.

The bedrooms are characterful but could benefit if the old-fashioned and redundant bed cushions were dispensed with leaving just the 4 large pillows. Life is too short to remove and stack up all those decorative cushions every night just to be able to get into bed. The en-suite bathrooms are very small but adequate. The (six) bedrooms are above the bar/restaurant so a bit of noise should be expected before closing time.

No hot water in the evening. Staff slow and not overly attentive. Rooms not up to scratch. 2 small beds pushed together instead of a proper bed. Creaky floors. Not overly clean
