O Palleiro do Pe do Forno

Beds were very comfortable and the shower was just great. The room was a bit small but everything else made well up for it. There were two nice terraces but due to the weather we could not make use of them. Lovely dinner, the best meal we had on this extended trip. And a super atmosphere , Isabel was the best hostess ever. Just for her good sense of humor and warm welcome we would come back.

Nothing comes to mind

We stayed there during our Camino de Santiago trip (even though it was a bit out of the wayfrom the official route) and everything was amazing. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, the food was incredible, the rooms were clean and tidy (even had a hairdryer). The region is very beautiful, quite a lot of historical routes around and worth visiting whether you are a pilgrim on their Camino journey or just want to escape civilization for a bit!

This was our second time staying here and it was just as good as before. Everything is truly exceptional. The host, Isabel, together with her husband, runs this hotel with great passion. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed warmly, and it was clear that all Isabel wants is for her guests to be happy. The room was fantastic. Very comfortable bed, air conditioning working well. Exceptional modern spacious shower. And so peaceful and quiet. Every part of this hotel was scrupulously clean Dinner was excellent. There is a small menu of home cooked local food to chose from. We all chose different things to eat. There were 5 of us and we all agreed that the quality and presentation of our meal was on a par with any top class city restaurant. And the prices for everything are very reasonable. The location of this hotel is perfect for visiting the whole Las Médulas park, with the Mirador de Orellan only a short distance away. Many thanks Isabel. This is one of the very best places we have stayed during many visits to Spain walking various Camino routes. We will definitely be back, and would strongly recommend anyone visiting Ponferrada or Las Médulas to take time out to stay here. I can't imagine how anyone could find anything negative to say about this hotel.
