Included breakfast, decoration, helpful staff and courier to/from Dar
Location is not the best area to walk through (especially at night); the courier help to/from the room is absolutely needed at any hour with luggage. No hot water on arrival (we were told there just wasn't enough for all the rooms and to check again in the morning). Room we were in was a very odd configuration (bathroom down a cold/unheated hall); the portable heater was highly insufficient for heating even the room and could not be left on overnight due to safety concerns.

We could not fault the service and the place.

Nice Riad with impressive decoration, friendly stuff, very good breakfast,
The boss helped us to arrange a city tour which we really appreciated. Good communication in advance!
They didn't believe that I already paid online by booking.com for the rooms. After having shown several proofs that I paid and they have had double checked, they finally agreed. So maybe it is some good advice to be aware of your payment status, although they told me that this happened to them for the first time. Normally the guests are mistaken and the hotel is right...?!

Amazing breakfast, beautiful scenery, very kind staff!
The single bed in the orange room was rock-hard.

We very much enjoyed the beautiful room, the terrace, breakfast and the easygoing kindness of the staff.
The terrace in particular is an oasis of calm, where you can breathe in the ambiance of the medina while enjoying the fresh breeze and sound of birds chirping.
The location is perfect in the heart of the medina off the main streets.
The staff were very kind and ready to help with anything we needed, giving suggestions but without pressuring to book using their services. Pick up at the entrance to the medina by the porter sent by the riad (Hassan) was not absolutely necessary but it was nice to have help with even the couple of bags we had and certainly appreciated on the way back home with the extra weight!
Would definitely recommend (and return!).
The breakfast room is a little cold and quiet even in the springtime and you can hear every sound coming from the room on the ground floor while you're having breakfast which could be a little awkward.

lovely building
great terrace with views
clean sheets
big bedroom
quiet street
host/receptionist seemed a bit slow and unbothered (the lady on the other hand was far more proactive)
breakfast was mediocre but the bread was stale and the coffee & tea were both cold
upon leaving, we returned to the hotel before the agreed checkout time but they had already packed our stuff out the room and dumped them in the reception.

Excellent staff, great breakfast and dinners, wonderful old architecture and a spacious room.
Older folks and others would find getting in and out of the tub/ shower difficult. Ask for other rooms.

Our large comfortable room was beautifully decorated. Abdul, our host, was so helpful and kind. The dar is deep in the Medina so we needed a guide, provided by Abdul, to get around. Very good breakfast and dinner there. The terrace is a plus.

Very nice riad, the room was big and clean. Very good breakfast and also dinner, best tajine eaten in Morocco. Amazing terrace from which to admire the sunset. Dris and staff were helpful and super welcoming. Highly recommended

The staff was very friendly - Dris and Abdul were constantly trying to exceed our expectations. The rooms were large and and comfy, good showers, and the food was very good.
The Riad will send their porter Hasan to the parking area if you call before arriving. Fee is 20dir. Parking fee is 20/day. If you have any trouble with the rate, wait for Hasan.
Some Riads are located on major streets and easier to find, but might be more noisey. Once you get used to the route, it's very easy to find, or they can provide a guide.
Not a negative - It's an old building in the old city, sound travels, and fixtures aren't new.. It's not a modern hotel in a major city, so expect the facilities accordingly.

We had the room on the top terrace and loved it. The terrace is why I booked the dar--gorgeous views! The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was cool, modern, and clean. The staff was super helpful. I would recommend that you organize getting to the dar with the staff. We got very lost trying to figure it out on our own.
It was a bit of a walk from the main streets, but in the end, I think I liked that distance. After finding the dar in the first place, we didn't get lost again.

location was great, as was the staff
narrow stairways, but that’s to be expected for an older building

The Dar Attajalli was magnificent. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The roof has nice couches where we could sit and enjoy the sunrise and sunset while drinking traditional Moroccan tea. They have an outstanding kitchen service. We were able to ask for food or tea at any time of the day. The breakfast and dinner were abundant and delicious. The hosts were very welcoming. They made sure that we had a pleasant stay. They helped us to book a walking tour around the medina of Fez which we enjoyed very much. Definitely the Dar Attajalli made our time in Fez memorable.

Dar Attajalli is a beautiful Riad with a very welcoming staff. We had a very spacious room, very clean and the breakfast was great as well. If you are coming from another place in Morocco and are not familiar with Fes I recommend getting a trasnfer through the riad from the train station and the airport as in the medina it might be tricky to find at first. I'd like to spend a few words on their restaurant, which is exceptional - possibly the best food we had during our 2 weeks in Morocco. If you are a guest at the riad don't hesitate to have dinner there, and if you are not you can also come and dine there as in any other restaurant - you won't be sorry!

Dar Attajalli is one of the well-known guesthouses of the medina. the location is fantastic. The breakfast is quite good and the rooms were clean.
nothing I disliked majorly. The service at breakfast/dinner could be improved, a bit more protein would be nice, and let the lady help more attending the tables, she is great

Beautiful building with lots of character; gorgeous roof terrace with views to the hills and across the medina; friendly, very helpful staff; great central location; nice breakfast.
This is not a real negative but we were the only ones there as it was just before high season so it was a little lacking in atmosphere but the bonus was we had the place to ourselves!

A wonderfully spacious Dar in the heart of the medina but in a quiet location off the main thoroughfares. Easily reachable from one of the gates, you have to walk 5 minutes from there. It looks rather gloomy and daunting from the alley but when you open the door a different world opens up. All the rooms face into the central courtyard where meals are served at night. The room was huge, but with a low ceiling and beware the low doorways. The breakfast was great, the roof terrace is a nice place to chill, big soft fluffy bath towels. A great place to stay in Fes.
Because all the rooms face the courtyard it could be a little noisy in the evening if you want to go to bed early and there are late diners.

A beautiful place in the middle of the Medina! It is a close walk to the car parking but also very close to multiple souks and places to eat. We were welcomed with open arms and enjoyed our stay a lot!
The beds are quite hard. Might not be for everyone, in case of back problems.

Beautiful riad! I stayed in the room at the top and it had a lovely outdoors sitting area with views of the medina rooftops. I could easily find the riad by using GPS on my phone. Room was large and had a small kitchenette, bed very comfy. WiFi was available. Breakfast tasty, staff friendly, helpful and welcoming. Would stay again.
all was good

I loved the Riad, from the location, the kindness of Chaimae, the breakfast, the room, there are no words to describe the great experience. It was my first time in Fes and thanks to the great experience in this Riad we will surely return soon.
Everything was perfect

The service is attentive, while slow at sometimes during breakfast. Just be patient, it pays off for made to order food. Laundry was ok, clothes came back slightly rough. Beautiful riad and beautiful bathrooms.
The. Beds. Were. Hard. I have back problems and the beds didn’t help at all. It was uncomfortable to sleep after 10km of walking everyday.
Also the stairsteps are too tall and not code compliant, so be careful if you need accessibility.

Lovely reconstructed historical building in old medina - a typical dar. This is the first thing that makes a great atmosphere - you travel back in time. Great attention to details. Had one of the best (or probably the best) Moroccan food for dinner - it is a bit pricey but we recommend to have it at least once. Chaima who takes care of the kitchen is a very passionate cook, she also does cooking classes and you can see that she really loves it. The dar also has a beautiful rooftop - enjoying the evening prayers from here is a must experience!
- a bit worse price/quality ratio then elsewhere in Morocco (but probably it is because Fes is more expensive then other towns we visited, we dont know...)
- didnt like the fact that there was no one waiting for us after arrival to the car park (we stayed also in medina in Marrakech where the arrival was much smoother (the owner was waiting for us after taxi dropped us in front of medina)). We arrived when it was already getting dark and it was not very good experience trying to find the dar in the dark medina (we were advised to take a porter but they didnt seem to know where the dar was when we told them the name of it). So I would advise the dar owners to consider sending a person that takes guests to the dar from parking place - it is just a small detail that could be easily fixed and the whole experience would be totally different from the beginning.
- due to the architecture of the dar you dont have that much privacy (you can hear every sound from the downstairs, e.g. when they prepare breakfast - that is why it starts a bit later - at 9 - so that it doesnt wake the guests up too early). So if you are sensitive to this, consider taking another type of accomodation.

Great breakfast, rooftop, and staff!
Our bathroom had a smell to it, but this is not the staffs problem!

Dar Attajalli was fantastic. It has a great location in the old medina, The staff were super nice and accommodating, the room was magical, very spacious with seating area, very stylish and serene. The breakfast was amazing and delicious. The host Zakaria was friendly and professional. We will definitely stay there again. Will recommend it to family and friends.

The interior of the building, the courtyard and the rooms themselves are beautifully restored and tastefully decorated. The beds were firm but comfortable and the rooftop terrace is also a nice addition.
We booked the 4-person room a couple days before our stay to have some more livings space as we were planning to take it easy during the hot afternoons. However it turned out that it was double booked for the 3rd night of our stay and we were proposed two separate 'normal' rooms as an alternative as the manager somehow was under the impression that we were travelling as a family which wasn't the case and therefore not an acceptable alternative. We didn't have time to come to a solution before our stay and onsite we agreed on a guided tour as a compensation for the room switch. The tour was nice however we felt like the manager was not very pro-active in coming up with suggestions to make up for the error on arrival and we felt uncomfortable having to insist on options rather than being offered some options right when we arrived after a long journey
When we wanted to use the bath late at night, we had put some of the provided traditional black soap in our bath, when we discovered that the stone that is supposed to replace the bath plunge didn't stop the water from draining we had used a towel underneath the stone (by no means we had put it in the sewage pipe) to be able to take a bath. The next day we were called into the managers office which felt quite patronizing to be told that the towel found in our room was too dirty to be cleaned. (caused by the black soap).
Maybe we shouldn't have done this and we were willing to compensate for it but when she told us this medium sized towel was supposed to cost 22 euro we felt this was a very unreasonable price and we got quite upset (in our own language) and ran into an argument that overshadowed the rest of our stay. The next day we settled on 15 euro. Surely the manager will respond below that we were very unpolite and disrespectful guests and the claims below are actually incorrect.

The room iw very big with arabic-turc style. All the house is in the same style and not far from the Cheikh Ahmeth Tidjane Zaouiya which is my target for this travel. It is located in the old and historical city of Fez.
The access is not easy but you can find porters in the entry of the city to carry your baggages. You have also to work about 500 meters to get to the hotel but you can take advantage of these moments to visit the old city and take photos.
