Little Garden Guest House

Staying at Akshay’s guest house was a delight and felt like a home away from home while in Udaipur. It’s been in his family for 7+ generations and you can feel the pride and care that is taken in welcoming guests and showcasing local history and culture. The rooms are a delight. Each one is different, and every detail is chosen carefully and tastefully. Modern/western comforts are accounted for and the whole property is spotlessly clean. The staff are welcoming and warm and do everything possible to guarantee a comfortable stay. Akshay was incredible—I needed clothes for a wedding, and he immediately hooked me up with a top-quality tailor, then also took me around town on his motorbike to find some nice leather shoes. Then he treated me to lunch and showed me daal baati, a classic Rajasthani dish. If you are weighing staying here vs a typical hotel, I’m telling you this wins x1000.

Very minor, but some seating up on the rooftop would be nice! That paired with some canvas or similar thing overtop for shade would turn that into a great place to hang out and enjoy the palace views.

A strikingly beautiful, sensitively restored 200-year old Rajput 'haveli'. Truly, a labour of love for Akshay, its owner. The entrance, from a bustling lane, does not prepare you for the tranquil beauty within. Great location, within walking distance from the Palace and the lake. Exceptionally warm and hospitable staff. Shanti, in particular, ensures that every comfort of his guests is attended to. After staying here once, I cannot really consider staying anywhere else in Udaipur.

A beautiful heritage building with so many nice details. It’s well maintained, the rooms and bathrooms are big and very clean, the staff super friendly. We loved it!

Central location, within walking distance to main attractions. Beautifully decorated property. Great breakfast.
