Big comfortable room for 2 people

Location and proximity to Plaza de Armas is great. You can't avoid the taxi ride from the city's main bus terminal to the hotel though, so be mindful of that. The bed was nice and comfy. Wifi worked. Hot water was really good. The cleaning of the room was excellent.
Staff was unfriendly and did not try very hard to help or be nice during my stay - not just toward me but toward other travelers. The breakfast was quite sad and in a cold and drafty upstairs room with makeshift seating. I had booked several nights with breakfast and on the last day, I had to leave before the 830am breakfast started, so I received a packet of 6 crackers and a gatorade as my breakfast to go. Oh well. There is tons of noise throughout the day and night. The shower is quite small and isn't a closed stall - instead there's just a curtain, so it's easy for water to land on the flower - the main ventilation is an open window in the bathroom. If you're ok with a potential draft, then it all works.

Totally deserves a rating way better than an 8.4!
Squeaky clean shiny floors, white crisp sheets, no-wait hot water, very helpful staff, and nice big window.
Trujillo has an issue with beeping horns. Ugh! All night.
Use earplugs.
And replacing instant coffee would be nice.

shampoo sachets and a great big bed
breakfast was very poor and staff could be more friendly. bread was so stale, eggs tasted like they had gone off and cold coffee. I called asking for it to be warmed and was ignored - no one replaced it.

Unfortunately, we had a room next to the street and it was quite loud. The location of the hotel is perfect to do a city tour.

Locate close to main plaza. Room is charming and big. breakfast served at room.
Room just beside road may find some noise. Staff prepare breskfast utentils just outside room at night also cause some annoyance.

The staff was very friendly, the rooms had great air conditioning for the summer and breakfast was brought to our rooms. A block from the plaza de armas!
